Story Summary
Now in the twentieth millennium of time, a solemn and dramatic event is taking place... A convoy moves through time and space. The people making up the last vestiges of a race being systematically hunted down, destroyed by he omnipotent Alliance. The hunted and persecuted race are humanoids; human beings... an undisciplined... unsubjugatable... resourceful people who love freedom, adventure... love, humor, even conflict... losses are many, and destruction takes place on an apocalyptic scale. yet, these brave intergalactic pilgrims continue their quest. The human colonists travel as nomads, as outcasts, as marked men, from planet to planet, star to star, throughout time and space...avoiding the constant attack from the Alliance and seeking their last refuge in space...a sister world, which began as their own worlds did in the far and distance past. The world the colonist seek may even herself have fallen victim to the Alliance...if not she can be warned and helped, or even offer them help in defeating the enemy. Her location is not known...only her existence... somewhere in the far reaches of space. She is the last outpost of human beings in the universe save for this convoy...She is their last hope of survival... She is a world known as Earth. Leading the people is a Patriarch, Commander Adama...who rides command from a pilot ship, followed by countless other space freighters and assorted of vehicles. With Adam are his two sons and a daughter. The eldest son Apollo is in command of a handful of warships, which flank and protect the main body from surprise attacks. On the day of a Peace Celebration, the Alliance's Cylon Warriors attack the human colonist and wipe out all but one of their Battlestar's, the one known as Galactica. Adama's youngest son Zack is killed during the onslaught. Now the betrayed commander rescues all human survivors and begins his incredible trek into the galaxy. Of in calculable aid to Commander Adama and his son Captain Apollo is Colonel Tigh, Adama's longest true friend, and Lt. Starbuck, a courageous star pilot with and eye for the ladies, and a passion for gambling. But in a dogfight with Cylon Raiders there is no pilot more resourceful and reliable. Starbuck spends many of his lighter moments with the Commander's beautiful daughter Athena, or the socialator Cassiopeia. During the odyssey to planet Earth, Apollo meets and falls in love with a colonist named Serina, who was a reporter covering the Peace Celebration on Caprica at the time of the Cylon attack. Apollo wins favor with her small son, Boxey by having one of the Galactican scientist manufacture a cybernetic "daggit"-which is a robot dog, called Muffit. The Galacticans stop off at a planet called Carillon to refuel their space craft with tylium, and take a much needed rest. They are welcomed with open arms (four to a host) by the Ovion People, a race of insect like creatures. Shortly after the colonist have landed Commander Adama begins to suspect the Ovions motives, and orders a battlefleet to standby. Adama's worst fears become reality. Much to his horror, Captain Apollo discovers that the Ovians are allies with the evil Cylons, and even worse, the insectoids are using drugged humans as nourishment for their young! As Carillon explodes into warfare, a fleet of Cylon Battleships prepare to attack. A spectacular starbattle wages between the Galactians and the Cylons! In the end, Commander Adama's resourcefulness and quick-thinking leads the human warriors to victory...but only for the time being. The Alliance will not rest until every last Galactian colonist has been exterminated. Only the courage and stamina of the human forces will preserve their quest for Planet Earth!
