This is a pic of my 50 Gallon Bow Front Tank-
I have 2 Fancy Goldfish in here.(Orandas) I have had these 2 fish almost 3 years now. When I fisrt got these fish, they were approx 2 inches long., but now they are bigger than my hand! at approx 10 inches long, the tail alone on the biggest one is 6 inches long! wow!!

This tanks runs on : Penguin Bio-Wheel 330, and AquaClear 402-Power Head Filter. - and a 150 watt,
12' inch heater.(Top Fin) I keep the water around 74-76 degrees all the time.

I have Glass Rocks as my substrate, with a few Natural Colored Pebbles.
With a few plastic plants- and a Natural Log of sorts.

I do 90% water changes 0nce every 3 weeks.  (using a python) and I use *Aquarium Pharmaceuticals,inc- Tap Water Conditioner* to condition the water. (I put it right into the tank right before I put in my clean water- straight from the tap)! - This removes *Chlorine, Detoxifies metals, and breaks the chloramine bond*
I always add *Aquarium Salt* as per directions. seems to help the fish stay healthy, and stress free.- I rinse out my Filter Media weekly, however I do a complete breakdown of the whole filter system once a month. for a through cleaning. (a tooth brush comes in handy for this!)---> I have read on some sites that a total breakdown is not necessary, AND using tap water could destroy your beneficial bacteria, however I have had NO problems. I clean all my tanks, filters, and media with clean warm tap water. and have no problems. * I would like to add that all my tanks are established- and have been up and running for over a 3 years now. *

I use Tetra Gold Fish Flakes to feed, OR  AQUARIAN Flakes, sometimes A FLOATING pellet.,  and Blanched Greens, Cilantro, and Parsley are a favorite.- I feed them
twice a day ( I turn off their filters during feedings- about 5 mins)

I have had no major problems with any of my Fancy Goldfish. - Just remeber *Prevention* is the key to raising and enjoying your goldfish, Most fish desease can be prevented- as long as you do your weekly/ monthly water changes, feed accordingly., and keep your filters clean, you should never have any problems with sick or deseased goldfish.ALSO- Goldfish are *MESSY* fish, and grow to be very large fish--- they need at least 20 Gallons per fish- , ALSO Goldfish NEED filteration! a goldfish bowl is not only mean, and cruel- but does not give them the room they need to grow, or the airation they need to breathe.--->> also remember goldfish have a long lifespan, I have read up to fifty years! so that is a life long pal!! ((:
Now if you are indeed ready to take on the job of housing, and caring for your goldfish pal, remember to enjoy them, I have had many house of delight with my goldies... if you have any comments, or questions, please feel free to email me at:
