T.R.U.E. IN YAHSHUA FELLOWSHIP
UNDERSTANDING THE
NAME OF YAHSHUA
Our Lord
and Savior is commonly known by His Greek name "Jesus", but we
must remember that He was born in Israel and His Hebrew name is YAHSHUA. One of the
reasons why we like to call Him by His original name is that we can understand
its meaning more clearly. YAHSHUA consists of two words. The
first one "YAH" is shortened from God's
name "YAHWEH" which has
the meaning of The Eternal One (Psm. 68:4; Isa. 12:2; 38:11). When we say "HALLELUJAH" we are
praising the Name of God. The second word "SHUA" means
Savior. Another reason for calling Him YAHSHUA is that
our Lord was born to a Hebrew family, and that was the name His brothers,
sisters and friends called Him. We are indeed His brothers, sisters and friends
(Lk. 8:19-21; Jn. 15:14; Rom.8:29).
There is a closeness and intimacy when we call Him YAHSHUA.
YAHSHUA is the Name revealed by God for the salvation of
mankind (Mt. 1:20-25; Acts 4:10-12). It is "the
Name above every name" in the universe (Php. 2:9-11).
God's people must exalt Him and proclaim His Name throughout the world (Psm.
8:1; 34:3; 66:1-2; Acts 4:17-20; 8:12).
We have this promise from our Lord, "For
where two or three are gathered together in My Name (YAHSHUA), I am there in
the midst of them" (Mt.
18:20). The early Christians did actually gather in His Name (1 Cor.
5:4). When God's people gather together in His Name again there will be a
glorious presence of the LORD in their midst. The TRUE IN YAHSHUA FELLOWSHIP
will bring Christians and Messianic Jews closer together.
The TRUE IN YAHSHUA FELLOWSHIP have four objectives based on the acronym T. R.
U. E. They are :
T stands for Truth. YAHSHUA is the
Truth (Jn. 14:6). He prayed that His disciples be sanctified by the Truth (Jn.
17: 17-19). "And you shall know the Truth, and
the Truth shall make you free" (Jn. 8:32-33). True
worshipers shall worship God in Spirit and in Truth (Jn. 4:23-24).
R stands for Revival which can
only be realized through the power of the Holy Spirit (Ezk. 37:13-14; Rom.8:11;
Zec. 4:6). YAHSHUA will
return after the "Restoration of
all things" (Acts 3:20-21). This
means all the truths and doctrines that the early church was preaching must be
restored in its fullness.
U stands for Unity. YAHSHUA prayed
for the Unity of His disciples so that the world may know Him as the Messiah
(Jn. 17:23). We should endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of
peace (Eph. 4:3-6). All believers must be at peace with one another.
E stands for Evangelism. YAHSHUA had given
us a very clear command to "Go into all the
world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mk. 16:15). "And this
Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the
nations, and then the end will come" (Mt. 24:14).
The TRUE IN YAHSHUA FELLOWSHIP welcomes
all Christians and Messianic Jews to be a part of this world-wide movement that
is helping to proclaim the Name of YAHSHUA and the
Gospel of the Kingdom in many countries. God bless you. HALLELUJAH!
