AMIGASAN MARU
Day two took us to the Amigasan Maru a 137m long 7,621 tonne freighter. The wreck has a large port list and is deep, around 60m to the seabed. Our only visit to it took us to the starboard side just forward of the bridge. With the rest of the group firmly ensconced in the holds we dropped across the deck to the port rail at 50m. Turning aft into the mid-ships superstructure presented us with an incredible view that didnt quite reveal the stern.

We then ascended through the bridge area before heading forward and into No.2 Hold and its oil drums, staff cars and a large torpedo hole on the starboard side.

We then went though to No.1 Hold and across the forecastle, with its obligatory bow gun. Its worth going those extra few yards beyond the bow just to look back at it before following the curve of the starboard side back to the outside of the torpedo hole and, in our case, the shot.
