Steampunk-Inspired Original Line: The Inspiration

All original garments start with the designer's inspiration and concept sketches. I was greatly inspired by the aesthetic of this group on LiveJournal. Since I would be pulling so heavily from Victoriana styles, I decided that all of the ensembles would be worn over a period correct corset. Man-made fabrics were not readily available until World War I, so I also made a point of choosing material made from natural fibers for my garments.
