Other Garments: Outerwear

These garments didn't quite fit with the rest of my portfolio so I placed them here. Some were made with a pattern, some were not, but all are still anr_designs. Do not reproduce or remove material from this website without expressed permission.

Blue Cape & Purse
cape: fully lined cape, slightly longer in back than front, crossover clasp at neck, hood (also lined), bias bound neckline; purse: simple drawstring purse with beaded fringe, lined, drawn closed with satin ribbon

The first two pictures show the purse when completely flat. The final picture shows the color the best.

Mom's Red Cape
similar in design to the blue cape; made from red moleskin, trimmed with black double wide bias tape; rolled collar, double front button loop closure; interior seams also bound with bias tape; my own pattern

The in-progress cape. Everything is just pinned in place to see how the final garment will look.

The finished cape. No - your eyes do not decieve you. The "old school" mannequin sits slightly lopsided. ;) Note the interior seam finish (picture #5).

"Vintage" Black and White Coat
Vogue 8123: black and white check wool coat flatlined in muslin and lined in red satin; pattern altered to create lining and make sleeves 3/4 length; wool was a present from my grandma (a retired seamstress), muslin and satin were from the stash; total cost of coat: $0.25 for one black button
