Due January 19, 2005

I usually do not make “New Year Resolutions”.  I feel like I am setting myself up for failure. I have lost count of the years I have quit smoking. I have tried acupuncture, hypnosis, the patch, the gum and cold turkey. I think the longest I went was 3 months. Well, last year I decided that I would quit when my hubby, Chuck, and I left for our Florida trip. We drive down and usually I would have a cigarette each time. Chuck had to quit his 3 packs a day habit 12 years ago when he was having some lung problems. Since then I have not smoked around him or even in our house and let me tell you it is cold outside here in Maine! I called the 1-800 help line, armed myself with the commit lozenges, and off we went. It will be a year on the 29th of this month and I feel great. I have gained a few pounds (20 to be exact) and I will start working on that soon. If any of you are still trying to stop this worked for me so don’t quit quitting. You will get there one day and it is well worth it. Chuck and I have lots more time together and are much closer and I do mean closer. I would stand away from him and others just knowing that the smell lingered on my cloths and hair for quite a while. Feel free to e-mail me and I would be happy to help.
Huggles,
Joanne
