~ IN LOVING MEMORY OF
ANGEL ROSE REED ~
BORN TO HEAVEN ON 1/29/99
AND BABY DRU REED ~
BORN TO HEAVEN ON 1/23/01

My dear friend Sheri wrote this poem about our angels, and she and I both decided
it belongs on this page...
Christopher's Important Job

As I gaze upon the clouds I see halos brightly shine,
Our children are with the lord jesus in Heaven's great divine.
A tear rolls down my face, as they wave and shout down to me.
Calling "tell my mommy you saw me,
tell her it's me Christopher, that you see.
Don't you stand there and cry, I'll hold your babies for you.
I see them everyday, I wouldn't fib, there are two.
Tell my mommy that I miss her, and come and see her everyday.
But I have an important job up here, I watch your children play.
The pain is over for me, and your babies too.
As I sit up here and wait so patiently,
here come some more Angels, and they are very new.
You see my job is helping the new Angels to come along the way
I show them all my legos, and we sit for hours and play.
So please tell my mommy I miss her and I love her too!
But I have an important job here in Heaven, it's babysitting for you."
Written for Maria, Your friend Always Sheri Reed

Sheri's note about the poem she wrote: "Maria, I couldn't get your Christopher out of my mind today, so I went right over to the computer and in five minutes all these words came to me , they just came right out just like this. I think it's for you from Chris. What do you think, I couldn't stop crying once I read it in full.
Big Angel Hugs sheri....."

Empty Shells
Walking along the beach, endless and endless miles
of seashore with time to explore.
Empty shells are all that I can see
so I pick them up and carry them away with me.
Quite a collection I find I have
so I carry them for a safer place to be.
The sun beating down on them with a glimmer of light
that catches my eye.
More and more I find to carry with me
a salvation hard to describe.
So much beauty and so many different shapes,
But they all lay in such a commonplace.
As I carry these empty shells away with me,
The weight begins to slow me down.
So I sort through them one by one.
Each carries a moment in need.
Each one in different places I have found.
And each with a memory that has only just begun.

What Makes a Mother
Written by Jennifer Wasik
In memory of Zachery Wasik

I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say.
A Mother has a baby
This we know is true.
But God can you be a Mother
When your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can He replied
With confidence in His voice
I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.
Some I send for a lifetime
And others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay
I just don't understand this, God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a Mom
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow's where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear.
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I'm here."
So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are ok
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay.
They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home
They'll be at the gates for you.
So now you see what makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start.
Through some on earth may not realize you are a Mother,
Until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day
And you know you're the best one!

Fluff Up The Clouds
Written by Nana X, To Karen, Pat, Shawn and Nana.

Call Heaven there's an Angel
That's coming home today.
Our hearts are sad and broken
Because she couldn't stay.
Fluff up the clouds and lay her
Gently in your care.
Place the tiny halo
Softly in her hair.
Our arms will never hold her
Our lips will never kiss
The velvet of her cheeks
We were not prepared for this.
In our hearts will be a tiny hole
Where always you will be.
Because we wanted you so much
Our hearts will always grieve.
How sad we had to lose you
But we know that this was best.
Sleep softly precious Angel
In Gods eternal rest.

Baby Angel Alice
By Karen O'Connor, Kaorose@cs.com

Don't let them say I wasn't born,
That something stopped my heart,
I felt each tender squeeze you gave,
I've loved you from the start.
Although my body you can't hold,
It doesn't mean I'm gone,
This world was worthy, not, of me,
God chose that I move on.
I know the pain that drowns your soul,
What you are forced to face,
You have my word, I'll fill your arms,
Someday we will embrace.
You'll hear that it was "meant to be
God doesn't make mistakes",
But that won't soften your worst blow,
Or make your hearts not ache.
I'm watching over all you do,
Another child you'll bear,
Believe me when I say to you,
That I am always there.
There'll come a time, I promise you,
When you will hold my hand,
Stroke my face and kiss my lips,
And then you'll understand.
Although I've never breathed your air,
Or gazed into your eyes,
That doesn't mean I never "was"
An angel never dies...

~CHILD GONE HOME~
~AUTHOR UNKNOWN~

WHEN GOD CALLS LITTLE CHILDREN
TO DWELL WITH HIM ABOVE,
WE MORTALS SOMETIMES QUESTION
THE WISDOM OF HIS LOVE.

FOR NO HEARTACHE COMPARES WITH
THE DEATH OF ONE SMALL CHILD,
WHO DOES SO MUCH TO MAKE OUR
WORLD SEEM WONDERFUL AND MILD.

PERHAPS GOD TIRES OF CALLING
THE AGED TO HIS FOLD,
SO HE PICKS A ROSEBUD
BEFORE IT CAN GROW OLD.

GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH WE NEED THEM,
SO HE ONLY TAKES A FEW,
TO MAKE THE LAND OF HEAVEN,
ONE BEAUTIFUL TO VIEW.

BELIEVING THIS IS DIFFICULT,
STILL SOMEHOW WE MUST TRY,
THE TWO SADDEST WORDS MANKIND KNOWS,
WILL ALWAYS BE GOODBYE.

SO WHEN A LITTLE CHILD DEPARTS,
WE WHO ARE LEFT BEHIND,
MUST REALIZE, GOD LOVES CHILDREN,
ANGELS ARE HARD TO FIND.

"AND GOD SAID...."

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, I know."

I said, "God, I cry a lot."
And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."

I said, "God, I am so depressed."
And God said, "That is why I gave you Sunshine."

I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."

I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."

I said, "God, it is such a loss."
And God said, I saw mine nailed to a cross."

I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."

I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours is in the Light."

I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, I know."

" With Broken Wing..."

A broken wing; a broken dream---
My heart can't understand!
The price of love becomes too much,
For tears are grains of sand.

A lost child, my lost hope...
All is lost in what couldn't be.
I pray for peace that's been taken---
A walk beside the sea.

A dark night, a dark life---
I reach out for the sun,
But morning cannot find me; I am left behind---
When all the tears are done.

These wings are broken, This heart is bleak---
The light of the world, I hope to seek...
My child is lost, but love lives on...
In the light of the world, I wish to belong.

A friend can hear a tear drop.
