I didn't know Andy very well. We'd passed notes in the hall a few times, before I left school. I still have the notes. I did not know that Andy had been in an accident until 3 weeks after the funeral. I was heartbroken to have missed my chance to say good-bye". I think of him often though I'm not sure why. I remember how we were cracking up with each other that night and how when i went o school that next day and found out from Fothey that andy was dead. I Couldn't believe it. It was not till Fotehy broke down that i Knew it was true. I was stunned. I was at a loss for words. I didn't know what to do. That day was one of the darkes day's in my memory of scarborough. I am really sorry for the loss of your two precious children. We are not suppose to have to bury our children, they are suppose to do that for us. Losing a child is the hardest thing anybody should have to go through. When you were talking about what yo r son saying that when this baby died could we go to the zoo...that brought back a memory for me. I met Andy in 6th grade and got to know him pretty well through out middle school. We were in band together and I'm sure other classes. I regret that we did not keep in closer touch in high school, but I went to Waltrip and we spoke on the phone every s often and would see each other at football games and band functions. After our 2nd year in h.s. I moved away and never heard from him again. I wish I could have attended his funeral, but I did not find out about his death for a few months. I was so up et none of our mutual friends had told me. A friend just today, told me about this site and it is beautiful. I'm crying just looking at all the pictures of Andy. Andy was always very sweet. I have very fond memories of all of us making Miss Thompson so mad and her throwing things at us. I remember our 8th grade dance. We all danced in a big group of band people and Andy and the other guys were acting crazy duri g the song Funky Colmedina ( I have no idea how its spelled! ) Andy and I used to pass notes in class and I had kept most of them until I moved out of my parents house a few years ago. He would usually write me about who he was interested in and I would lways try to fix them up. Then he would talk about how he was breaking up with them. He was always a heartbreaker. I was friends with a few of his past girlfriends: Carol Theilen and Lise' Alden. Before I threw his old notes out I read over them one la t time and cried a bit. Of course they were so hard to read having forgotten how to interpret his sloppy handwriting. I remember a group of girl friends and I crying the last day of our 8th grade year, because Andy and some other guy friends were going t Scarbrough and we were going to Waltrip and we were going to miss them. When I find the old pictures of all of us I will e-mail them, I promise. I'm very glad I got to see this wonderful memorial. He was such a great guy, but I'm sure he's an even bet er Angel. I remember Andy just as you described in the web site. Andy was the only person I knew in high school that was popular with every group, including the teachers. He did have a lot of charm and wit. There is so much to remember about Andy and I think of im very often even though we weren't very close. He had a way of making everyone feel like a true friend.
