AIRCRAFT
The Metro III received certification on June 23, 1980 .  This aicraft, capable of carrying a maximum of 19 passengers, is ideal for American Midwest Commuter's short and medium haul feeder routes into communities where larger aircraft are not justified.
NEW!
The Metro III has two Garret TPE331-11U-601G tuboprop engines producing 1,000 shaft horsepower per side and providing a maximum cruise speed of 331 miles per hour.  The aircraft has a maximum service ceiling of 25,150 feet and an approximate maximum range of slightly over 900 miles - fully loaded with passengers and reserve fuel, however AMC flies these on much shorter routes. AMC flies the Metro III on their independent routes and under contract with Union Airways, as a Union Airways Connection airline.

American Midwest Commuter flies the Metro III in a 17-passenger seat configuration to allow for additional cabin room for our passengers.
