Light v. Shadow, and a curse that set brother against brother (well, half-brothers).  Can't get more fantasy than that.

The world of Athera lives under the thrall of the malevolent Mistwraith, concealed under a blanket of fog.   Only the powers of two half-brothers can break the Mistwraith's stranglehold: Arithon, Master of Shadows, is complex and enigmatic.  Lysaer, Lord of Light, is a single-minded crusader motivated by anger.  Tragically, the breaking of the Mistwraith forces a terrible curse down on the two, driving them to try and destroy each other.
