I chose a critical reading article out of Chapter 6 in The Allyn & Bacon Guide to Writing to read. I responsed to it and determined the ethos, pathos, and logos the author used to write the article.
I read Testimony, Narrative, and Nightmare: The Experiences of Jewish Women in the Holocaust and responded to it. I expressed exactly how I felt while reading it and how it affected me afterwards.
At the beginning of this essay, I wrote a response to the article read for the first journal entry. Then I responsded to my critical reading by evaluating the author's ideas and rhetorical ideas.
Women, Science, and Feminism was assigned to be read and then evaluated. Three claims made by the author were pointed out.
I did some research on the issue of my choosing. I found two articles summarized them and responded to both of them, as well.
I thought of an issue at TWU that I felt strongly about and came up with a claim-and-reason statement dealing with it. I also gathered supporting arguments and ranked them.
This essay was not written to tell someone what they should think on a certain issue but to give them my opinion on it. I chose to speak of the poor quality of academic advising.
