You have been a huge inspiration to me. I use to say I would do anything to meet you, but I think I'm somewhat beyond that wish now. It would be an amazing pleasure to talk to you and meet you though! 'Beaches' was and still is my favorite movie of all time. When I was 13 (I'm 15 now) I learnt about The Divine Miss Millennium Concert. Somehow, I was able to fly all the way from New Zealand to see you in Anaheim, Los Angeles. You were so talented and I couldn't believe how close I was to you - I was in row 4. I was so sad when I the show ended, as I wanted it to go on forever. Inevitably, I realize how lucky I was to see The Bette Midler live, belting out Wind Beneath my Wings and The Rose. I am also recommending a trip over here! Will you ever know that you're my hero? Probably not, but hey It's worth a try.

I have had the pleasure of meeting you when you were promoting the Bath House Betty album. You came to Houston and even though we were having a terrible rain storm, I waited 3 and a half hours in line to get your autograph and take a picture with you. You are so sweet and simply divine in every way. I believe in you and everything that you stand for. I was also at your performance at Rich's in Houston as well as the morning show for 104 KOBE. Iv seen all your movies a lot of times. and I have all your cads. I would do anything and I mean anything that isn't a sin to meet you. Well I have to say I'm like most people here. Love the movies you've been in, love the songs you've sang, love you. And I guess I'm not the only one who has taken a liking to you at such a young age. Ever since I saw Hocus Pocus in the movie theatres, I've been hooked. Now of course I have the movie (which I got that year for Christmas) and I've watched it so many times , even when I was young that I knew every word that everyone said in the whole movie. I don't care what everyone else or the critics said about how Hocus Pocus wasn't a great hit, but to a whole lot of kids and some grown ups it was. I too have admired and looked up to you since I was 8 ( now 15). Isn't your daughter 15? Sophie right? She sure is the luckiest person in the world to have such a multi-talented, tremendous person as her mother. I hope she grows up to be just like you. I've read your biography, and I have to say that you've had a very interesting life so far, and worked really hard to get where your at ! ,and you deserve every bit of happiness. It must be weird to have strangers saying all these wonderful things about you, so sorry about that. I have wished what it would be like to know you. Everyone who does know you is lucky. I'm working on it now, I'm in the second highest chorus in my school and am going on a trip to NY in Jan. of 2002. I've long since wanted and had a passion for being on a set with props and characters around me on TV. I will try my hardest to get up there with the famous. You are the wind beneath my wings. I mean it. Sometimes reality slashes through my dreams. I realize I am just one of young dancers and actress. How is a 13 year old girl from some unknown town who doesn't have the greatest training and timing gonna be dancer and how in the world do I think I can be an actress, I mean I just when to my second audition in my life and completely messed up, I didn't know ya need sheet music so I did without music and after the second verse broke down, I stood there shaking, I couldn't breath, I felt just like wanting to just sink into the floor. I was just so mad at my self for not having any strength. So of course I didn't get into the troupe. I cried all night and the only thing that would make me stop was listening to you. Sometimes I think I am just a silly little girl, unable to do anything right, desperately wanting to grow and be something. Sometimes I think I am not strong enough. I can't make it. I feel nothing could make me laugh or even just smile. That's where I am wrong. You make smile and laugh. I listen to you sing. I read what you say. I see your smile. Then I remember my dreams. With you I feel stronger. World throw anything at me. Say BS about my being gifted or wanting to a professional ballerina and actress. World I am going to be a ballerina and an actress. Wow! You sing so beautifully! When my mom first played your voice on the CD player, I was, like, so touched. That CD is no longer my mom's. I guess you can tell who's it is now. It was so amazing, though. First, you were, like, a stranger, and then it felt like you were my best friend. I live in New York. Scary, huh? You know what? AS many here have posted, I have loved you since I was a little girl as well. I know how each and every one of them feels when they say they long to meet you and be just like you. I think idolizing you has gotten me where I am today. Just knowing by heart the life you've lived and the dreams you followed made me the person I am. It's that very same courage that brought me to NY by myself and to go to college and be what I am and strive to be what I want. I've met you a few times, but only one that you're sure to remember. I will 30 soon and you inspire me. I want to be a singer/dancer/actress/entertainer! I feel a little lost these days and don't know where to pursue my dreams.
