Lignose

Kommerzienrat (like "Sir") Theodor Bergmann was associated with Berlin based Lignose Corporation, Lignose began Bergmann firearm manufacturing in 1921. Born in 1850 Sailauf to a middle class family, Theodor became chairman of Gaggenau Iron Works in 1889. Mass-produced airguns were made there. Bergmann Gaggenau company came about in 1894 and is where his different automobiles were built. I've read he trained as a gunsmith and that he was an engineer, assisted managers with consumer designs. Started Bergmann factory Suhl before WWI, the industrialist also contracted business. Making machine guns, rifles, civilian shotguns, handguns, ammunition, and mechanical items. I've seen everything from a typewriter to a coin slot machine bearing Theodor Bergmann's name. Built submachine guns and goods for the WWI military, so did Lignose in WWII, operations ceased temporarily in 1943 when the buildings were destroyed.

Theodor Bergmann's logo on my 1896 Bergmann pistol, VCS is contractor Valentin Christoph Schilling in Suhl.

Reversed image of a Lignose shotshell printing stamp that's been sitting on top of my computer.

Lignose built Einhand 3A.

The Einhand was probably developed for reseller Theodor Bergmann by Hugo Schmeisser, there are far more important designs both men played a part in.
