Dear Reader:

I managed to get my time machine to work. As you can see, I am back in the present and still on death row, needless to say I ran into a problem.

I wound my coils in a counter-clockwise fashion with the logic that I would go back in time. Indeed, that is what happened, but, remember when the power went out during that thunderstorm several weeks ago? Well, when I reached that point in time the power was cut to my time machine and I could go back no further than that moment because I had my machine plugged into the wall socket.

I have also realized a couple of problems that I will have to try and solve:

  1. Say the power at Holman Prison had never gone out due to the thunder storm; I would be limited to traveling back only to the point in time when the prison was constructed at the instant the power was first turned on;

  2. The prison was constructed in 1963. In order to travel back to 1962, a point in time before Holman existed, all of my parts and power sources used in my time machine will have had to have been manufactured in 1962 or earlier. Why ? - imagine this: all of my parts are manufactured in 1962 except for one that was built in 2000. I could not go back to 1999 because the 2000 part did not exist yet;

  3. I was not manufactured until 1974, August 11th to be exact. I can’t go back in time before that date because I did not yet exist.

In conclusion, the older that parts for the time machine, the older your power source, and the older your age, the farther back in time you can go, given that there were no interruptions in the power source for the time of its creation such as a thunderstorm.

The age barrier really irks me because it is just another example of the elders trying to keep a young man down.

I guess the old saying still holds true, “ There’s no better time than now.”
