The AHPA T.O.C. Committee will make final decisions.
This will be a handicapped tournament.  120 points to be used on a base of 50 shoes, 90% of the difference between your actual average and 120.  Your highest average will be used.  Either your AHPA sanctioned league average as used at the State Championships or your AHPA tournament average (excluding doubles and team tournaments) through the State Championships as reported by the league secretaries.  The men will pitch either a 4 or 5 game series (50 shoes per game) qualifying round.  If we have more than 72 entries we will need to go to a 4 game qualifying round.  The largest number of entries to date is 72.  Your actual score and HDCP will be totaled.  The eight pitchers with the highest totaled handicapped scores will move into the playoff brackets.  In case of a tie for the final position it will be broken in the following order (l) ringers (2) double ringers (3) a ten shoe pitch off that's explained in the playoff rules.
The playoff brackets will be heads up competition pitcher versa pitcher.  The pitchers handicaps are added to their actual scores.  If at the end of the 50 shoe game the score is tied.  The game will go into an overtime period, or periods.  Consisting of 10 shoes per pitcher plus 20% of their HDCP until a winner can be determined.
The winner of each playoff game will advance until a Grand Champion is declared.
The first pitch will go to the person with the highest HDCP score from the qualifier rounds.
The entry fee is $15.00 per person.  The cost of postage and court usage fees will be deduced out of each entry.
Please note, more pitchers than just the 8 finalists could be included in prizes.
We must have your entry fee by September 17, 2000.  The starting time of the qualifying rounds is unknown at this time.  The number of entries will be the determining factor.  Entry fees will not be returned.  Please check in 1/2 hour before your time to pitch.  Eighteen scorekeepers are needed for this event.  So please bring someone to help or you may have to keep your own scores.  Unless otherwise stated AHPA rules will prevail.  We will accept donations for the HELPER DRAWINGS until the Sunday before the tournament.
If you are eligible for the TOC, we will start handing out entry blanks at the State Championships.  If you would like to pitch in the TOC please submit your entry as soon as possible.
Some leagues have asked about donating money.  All money donations will be put into the prize fund.
