This is a close up of one of the 50 watt Bauer AM transmitters
that were installed to serve GIs within a 5 mile or so radius.
These were left behind when the larger AFVN detachments
closed down in 1972 and smaller detachments were left behind.

Parked in the AFVN lot on Monkey Mountain are the official
AFVN jeeps with "Monkey Mountain Music Maker" signs attached.
