AFP Museum and Historical Library Foundation, Inc.:

"When the Armed Forces of the Philippines Museum was inaugurated in late November 1996, a group of dedicated, well respected men and women from the military and private sectors got toghether with the vision and purpose of creating a Foundation that will run the museum expertly and professionally and one that will be able to weather any change in the political and military leadership.

The AFP Museum and Historical Library Foundation, Inc. (AFPMHLFI) was finally incorporated on 5 December 1997 with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit institution. It provides the institutional leadership that will help preserve, perpetuate, conserve, promote and disseminate the nation's glorious military history, culture and tradition. Presently, the Foundation operates and maintains the AFP Museum and its adjoining Kagitingan Park,

the premiere showcase of our rich military heritage spanning more than 500 years of bravery and heroism.

Aside from documenting and expanding the museum's collection of artifacts, improving its exhibits and conducting educational tours, one of the Foundations' most important endevors is the establishment and operationalization of a historical library and archives at the third floor of the museum building. The collection, conservation and preservation of reference materials such as books, documents, records, reports, photographs, manuscripts, and other publications on the Philippine military history and related matters will make the library and archives a primary resource center for students, researchers and enthusiasts of our nation's military heritage.

The AFPMHLFI welcomes donations of relics, memorabilia, documents and other items that will significantly enhance the collections and exhibits thereby making the museum, library and archives more effective in arousing the interest of its visitors and making them more proud of their military legacy. Financial contributions that will help the Foundation sustain its operations and enable it ot carry out its mission in educating museum goers will likewise be greatly appreciated. All donations will be promtly and properly acknowledged.
