Fire Extinguisher install
For rallying all cars require a permanent plumbed in fire extinguisher system and usually an additional handheld.  The regs require a minimum 2.75L for a AFFF (aqueous film forming foam) system so after checking with the suppliers I got a 3.5L system that discharges into both the passenger and engine compartments.  I also got a 2.4L hand held one which also needed bolting down somewhere.  The most difficult part of fitting the extinguishers is finding a good place for them and fitting the pull wires to activate the plumbed in one from both inside and out.
Step2:  External pull mounting

Normally mounting of the external pull handles is easy as old cars have 'scuttle panels' which can easily be drilled at the base of the windscreen and the cables fed though into the car interior.  On newer cars though these panels are gone leaving very little space for a couple of handles to avoid the opening bonnet and wipers.  To solve mine I put the handles at 90 degrees to each other on some welded in bases.  The first is lying up the windscreen as far over as possible, and the second........
Step1: Trying to get the position right

After talking to a few people and having a good look around the car I decided on a fairly different position.  Most people have them under the codrivers feet or on the back seat.  Unfortunately already being front heavy, under the codrivers feet would be even worse.  With the fuel tank under the rear seat also made thar type of installtion very difficult so I decided to try it between the front seats behind the handbrake.  This keeps the extra weight central and also means I don't need the internal pull as both driver and codriver can reach the extinguisher handle directly, even when straped in.

....... is vertical and turned 90 to get away from the wiper arm sweep.  Unfortuantely this meant a small peice of bonnet also needed to be cut away for clearance.  (opps, managed to get some gray primer on the second pull handle)
