A recent change has seen the faith system become more variable in nature than it previously was, with both strength and success changing between performances.

Although they strength is variable every each performance, it is not as variable as other such systems, like magic. It will usually very in a reasonably small range, depending on the ritual - there are no high or low 'flukes'. For example, curing rituals usually vary within a 100hp range, while Major Ward might vary by 400 hps of damage.

Success of the rituals, while still variable to some extent, is now far more dependent on skills than was previous. While at bonuses around the normal success for the ritual, the results might indeed be quite variable. However, once you get far above the requirements to perform the ritual, any failures will be rare, if at all.

There is now some advantage to gaining high faith bonuses in some respects, whereas before it offered very little advantage. Some of the rituals, such as holy aegis or blight, are quite difficult to perform and higher bonuses will not only give more success, but significantly greater results in terms of effectiveness.

The Faith skill tree.

A significant thing about the faith tree is that most of them are based on a single stat, wisdom. This can be an advantage in that you can get high bonuses in your primaries by having high wisdom, but remember that we have to rely heavily on non primaries and your stats may reflect this, be very careful when you rearrange.
