Who am I?

Anthony Duncalf lives and works in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the North of England, is single and in his early forties. A qualified teacher, with a degree in English and German, he has worked for some 20 years in residential and day care services for people with learning disabilities, and last year completed an HNC in Care Practice. For the past four years, he has been part of the management team in a residential home for people with Autism, run by a small Christian charity, where he recently took up a new post as Team Leader. He has applied this experience at times as a freelance trainer, and hopes eventually to work increasingly in the training and development field.

A 'born-again',  Christian since his teens, Anthony describes himself as a 'radical evangelical pentecostal with sacramentalist leanings'! This is reflected in the fact that, while  a member of Bridge Street Pentecostal Church in the centre of Leeds for the past three years,  he also worships regularly at his local Anglical Parish Church, St Edmund's, Roundhay.

From 1996-97, Anthony spent about 18 months in full-time ministry, promoting revival through street work and Church-based missions in the UK, and as a visiting teacher at a Bible School in Kiev (Ukraine).  He retains a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a desire to see true revival in this nation and beyond,  and since the Autumn of 2001 has been actively involved with Children's Hope  - a Christian charity working with street children in Ukraine. Having gone though the ordeal of being in and leaving a church which was arguably fast becoming a cult, Anthony has developed a particular concern for the purity of Biblical doctrine, and a compassion for those who have been hurt by false teaching and abuses of pastoral authority, which is reflected on several pages of this site. He has recently commenced a part-time M.A. course in Theology, through St John's College in York.

Over the past couple of years, Anthony has re-discovered a keen concern for social justice and environmental issues, which had lain largely dormant since his student days, and is currently re-assessing his lifestyle, including returning to a meat-free diet.  Other interests include hill walking, theatre, good food (eating it and cooking it!) and healthy eating, keeping fit (after the food!), and relaxing or working in his garden.
