| Born in France in 1974, Malachai was raised as few others are in this day and age. He was raised to be free. Free of ties that bound him anywhere. No worries, no regrets. For Malachai was born into a Roma family, who traveled the countryside, in a circus. Mal was raised as any young Rom boy would be. Taught the lessons of life, through living them. Quickly learning how to con people out of most anything he wanted. At the age of 15 he was sent off to travel with another kumpania, one that his younger cousin was in. It was a test of his right of manhood, so to speak. All Rroma children go through it at some point in their life to teach them how to be on their own, yet show them even on their own, there is still always familia with you. |

| With this new kumpania, Mal learned many things. Most of all tolerance. Tolerance for gaje. Though he still did not care for them, especially when it came to his immediate family. He was often teased because of his fierce protectiveness of his cousin, Sirena. That protectiveness really came into effect once she started talking about moving to the United States to be closer to her "aunt" Adrianna. Unable to talk her out of it, he grudgingly began to teach her what he knew of the talith, and melee skills in general. If he could not be there to protect her, then at least she could know how to protect herself. |

| Mal's patience and tolerence were soon tested when Sirena contacted them a few months after moving to the States, and informed them she met a guy, and was planning on marrying him. At first he was more than happy for her, just leary on if the man was good enough for her. Then he learned he was Gaje. That put a stop to any and all happy feelings he had. Sirena arranged for her and this new man of hers, Derrick to travel out to France and be married in the traditional Rom style. Mal was not happy about this, and let it be known to Sirena and her fiancee as soon as they stepped off the plane. |
| Days passed, without Malachai's opinion changing much, until Sirena's beloved Adrianna finally arrived at the kumpania for the wedding. A few words from her, and he solved his attitude problem, and stayed at a distance. Since then he has learned to actually like Derrick, especially when news of Sirena being pregnant reached him. He grew even happier when he learned that she would be coming home once more to have the child. And finally he gave up all hatred for her husband, seeing how much he did respect the familia's ways. Time passed and finally Sirena asked him to come and stay with her for a few weeks in the states. He hestinatly agreed. But missed her, and wanted to get to know her son more. He'd just turned 2 a few months prior, and she had told him that he was definately showing signs of some gifts that perhaps Malachai could help her guide him in. So he set off for Kansas City, Missouri, not knowing when he would be back to life as he knew it. |
