1. Mists of the Ancients
As resident storyteller at Williams Bar Adrian Spendlow has had some great experiences: none as exciting as this evening with Special Guests Elaine Wallace and Jane Stockdale. Their feature as part of The York Literature Festival was truly beautiful. Almost too rich this becalmed the audience and left them completely sated.
Come along upstairs from 7.30 onwards for an eight o?clock start and be prepared to pay your measly £3 to be transfixed and transformed. A full menu can be available to you by pre-arrangement with Williams on 01904 671400 For latest review of the show Use This Link

2. Radio York special for the Mists of the Ancients show.
Adrian Spendlow resident ghost-teller for the Jerry Scott show on Radio York takes live action wonder to the air on Tuesday the 10th of April between 10pm and midnight.

3. Connie and Ron Spendlow as truly special guests.
Yes mi mam n dad! Alright so I am at Williams Bar in York every Thursday from 8 till 9.15 ish but May 3rd 2007 is the very special night when stars in their own right Connie and Ron, mi mam n dad, are featured as special guests. Known around and about the country and often special guests at balls and banquets sit at the top table with Mayors and Mayoresses author and first ever York Ghost walker Connie Spendlow team up with the man who rode the Flying Scotsman on its last trip through Yorkshire before leaving for America, Ron himself. Come and be charmed. Vikings, Ghosts and Way-back-when.

4. Stand-Up Storytelling at its best hits the hotels. The hotels of York and beyond.
I do pleasant entertainment around the hotels and guest houses as a storyteller and wondered if you might like to arrange small groups sometimes. I am a regular at the York Youth Hostel, am writer in residence at the Jorvik Centre, with a monthly spot as ghost?teller for Jerry Scott on Radio York; I just featured in the York Literature Festival and perform every Thursday at Williams Bar in Goodramgate. I charge a reasonable fee per head, either through yourselves, the individuals or their organisation. I work with all ages from very small to extremely worldly wise or even a combination of the lot. Your lounge may be miniscule or massive, let me fill it with enthusiasm.

5. Tour of homes for the elderly
A bright and breezy show for those of a fancy for a little reminiscence. Choose from the story menu to create an afternoon of your very own. Call Adrian on 01904 789950 to arrange your visit.

6. Andvari's Gold
An exciting show featuring the voice of the festival Jorvik Festival?s very own poet in residence Adrinskald. Where Tolkien got it all from; walk with the un-valiant dead, be turned to evil by the curse of the ring, see the twisted form of once fun Loki create an unstoppable hatred that destroys the world. But this time the dark side wins. And it is all great fun. Fafnir the dragon and Adrinskald himself find the mythic being in your heart in this riveting one man story show ideal for theatre audiences from kiddy wids to biggy wigs.

7. Nordic Vision Journeys
Let the vision journey look deep inside your heart and supply a full personal reading for only £12. Send your cheque made out to Adrian Spendlow to 51 Plantation Drive, York YO26 6AD
Metaphorically you are warrior spirit and your way can be seen through the power of your very own story. Mythic being in your heat, Essence of journey, Your rune epithet and the casting of the random runes of Yggdrassyl bring the sight of your way.

8. Monthly Poetry Jams
Now this is a magical evening! If you read and believed all those press releases about me being an ex-poet this event at the Royal Oak in York will prove that wrong. I am a big daft liar. Every third Monday of the Month (Please have a look through and mark them all in your diary, its the only way, but the next one is the 16th of April) sees Adrian and friends meeting up in the lovely upstairs room of this quaint old pub. (If you are planning a trip over the water let me re-word that, olde worlde pubbe) The best performance poet on the planet humbly melds with smashing musicians and vocalists. Bring your instruments or songs to weave in. Friends who visit include Elaine Wallace, Julie Ellison, Dave and Graham of Restless Natives, Jane Hickling of Dark Heart, Dan Webster, Chris, Lou and Melanie of Red Trees.
8 o clock start only £1. Be there around 7.30 if you want to order a meal (there is often a bit of free supper late on, although it is by no means obligatory).

9. All That Dragon
Dragons never died at all. We just stopped believing in them. Now because of this new tour of schools throughout the country they are awakening. They were there all the time in the heart of the child. Or was it the child-heart of us all? Adventure and create in this interactive experience of poetry, story and drama.

10. MIND Arts opening in Bridlington
I was thrilled to be invited to the reopening of the newly refurbished Mind Arts Centre in the Old Parcel Office in Bridlington Station. Restless Productions were there as my guests and are creating a feature with photographs for their review section at Restless Productions

11. Specials for Schools
Adrinskald the Viking recently appeared at St Mary?s Primary (Miss McKay picked me up from the Chappletown station so it must be around there!) and worked with one year 3 class for the full day. The pick n mix menu of stories, drama, writing, poetry and interaction has more than enough material on it for a few days worth of activities. The kids were great and cheered me off at the end? No wonder you want to take his photo, he is really cool? (A ten year old.)
I got a bunch of lovely thank you letters which was lovely. One of them said, ?You are the best thing that has happened in my life!?
Poetry Pirates as with the above you get a full CDRom of follow up activities and a whole school can be involved.
Do you really live on a ship?? ? Well I believe him, he is real!? (A contractor up a ladder)
Work with different groups all day and finish with them all performing.
The next two relate to York and are as a result of festival commissions. (You may want to know about York in Tasmania or the Bahamas)
The River festival commissioned me to create a model of the river with each part producing story. Follow the trail of Margaret and her family whole brought the cocoa beans to the chocolate factories, A whole world of folklore, country lore and magical myth travel with us along the way. Suitable for the very young too.
The Festival of Light in York saw a commission from York?s Literary Officer called Shadows of an Ancient City Shine with sunrises, sparks of life and a whole city if York on a table. All ages and families too. (Best in the dark)
Essence of Journey is a collaboration project with Arts Action York and York Archaeological Trust to bring artists, storytellers, writers, children and community groups together in an exciting interactive creative way. The culmination will be performances and displays of created banners during the Jorvik Viking festival.
Grants are being awaited for the after schools and community parts of the project, in the mean time however you can join in by engaging services: Sessions of storytelling and gathering with a specially created essence of journey group work; items from which will go on to the festival.

12. Future Festival work
A recent suggestion that festival organisers incorporate my storytelling evening at Williams Bar into their schedules has resulted in a staggering 6 festival organisers responding favourably. A special night will be created and fitted in to the program. The Adrinskald's Table event is the first of many such special events on a whole host of themes. Thus demonstrating the versatility of this man, er me. Adrian Spendlow. Stand-up Storyteller, Performance Poet, Viking Skald and children?s entertainer.
As Adrinskald, he has appeared at every Jorvik festival and event since they first commissioned him nearly three years ago: Entertaining the crowds, writing to commission, descending to the level of the child and generally truly becoming. Experience a visit from Colin the Kobold, discover the mythic being within. Talk to Jane Stockdale for more info on his work for them EMail to - jstockdale@yorkarchaeology.co.uk
Adrian is currently writing a book for Hopscotch Educational Publishers which covers over 30 poetry forms and around a thousand writing ideas and whilst being available for workshops and educational placements is eager for the change of getting back on the boards in his new role as a stand-up storyteller on terms that purely suit you.

13. Restless Productions
In the near future the Restless crew, (which includes me), will be working on a documentary of the life of said same poet and stand-up storyteller, Vikings in York, Ghosts of York, Psychics around York and Railways in York (working titles). Oh yes and recording my intro poems for well known British bands.
Joloblot the DVD, with footage of York's Jorvik Festival and commentary by Adrinskald will be available very soon and the early reviews have been very impressive. Send me an email to find out how you can order a copy of this exciting product or visit the Restless Productions website for more details. http://www.restlessproductions.co.uk/joloblot

Reviews of Mists of the Ancients, Jorvik Festival and much more can be found at the Restless Productions website at http://www.restlessproductions.co.uk

14. Intro poems for bands
Recordings are now available. Poems for The Cutters, Pellethead, Golden Virgins, Ed Parrish, Cynic Guru and even Rudi Maggagar are available free to the bands, radio stations, promoters and anyone else with a good reason for having a copy. Give me a shout and let me know your address. Adrian's Intro Poems

15. An Epigram
Watch me go for I can fly

but I now know we must always take our heart with us

for from its hurt are forged these wings of steel

16. Adrian's Books - A full list of Adrian's previous publications is now available. See list

18. Adrian the artists model - Having been asked many times to pose for various artists Adrian has finally relented for his friend Dave Johnson. The process has started, but Dave tells us that Adrian is not the best when it comes to sitting "The man just cannot be still, he is just so full of life. I have been trying to take out the battery but have had no success so far. Most of my work so far is connected to photography." more - Digital Art
