Welcome to AberEvents!

AberEvents is a friendly social group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people in Aberystwyth and surrounding area.

The University has a very successful LGBT society, but for those not connected with the University we aim to provide a friendly social alternative in the district. We hope to encourage those who are traditionally "non-scene" or even those who are not "out" to take part and get a sense of the community being created.

The dynamics of the group are bound to change from time to time, but currently it is fairly evenly divided between the sexes, and there’s a wide range of ages.

What do we do?

Activities so far have included:

· Guy Fawkes night fireworks displays in Aberystwyth

· Social evenings in a central pub

· Dinners (Click here for pictures of a Murder Mystery dinner in 2002)

· Theatre & cinema visits

· Café afternoons (Click to see some of us at the Treehouse café in Aber, or more recently at our new venue, the Arts Centre café)

· Meetings at members' homes

· Beach Barbecues

· Discos

· PLUS regular women's events, including Murder Mystery Evenings!
