| Sir Syed Ahmad Khan a great social reformer, started the Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College (MAO College), in 1875. In 1920, the College was converted into a full fledged University by an act of Parliment. Today,the Aligarh Muslim University is one of the Central Universities, & a premier learning institute in India. |

| The Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology was founded on 21st November 1938. Officially it comes under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, AMU, Aligarh. It is named after a great scholar of AMU and the former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain. |
