Have you ever gone through some major rapids? This is a shot of the whirlpool just below Steep Falls, located in Steep Falls, Maine. These falls are very dangerous and MUST be portaged as it is a 7 foot drop or more, depending on the time of year and the water level.

Once you get out of the whirlpool at Steep Falls, you enter some pretty rough waters, Class 3 & 4 in the sprinter, Class 2 in the summer and fall. Beware of the huge rocks and boulders that live here!
