("Cliffhanger" and "Bad Pit")Also, the facility features a weekly race series, held all summer long on Thursday evenings. The events attract ov r 40 local racers and provides for some exciting competition throughout the season! Call 705-687-8858 for information, etc.

Ruts, roots, rocks, drop offs, jumps, logs, obsticals, single track, wide track, climbs, decends, curbs, bumbs stumps you name it, they got it, and six different trails of it to chose from to. They o anywhere from 2km to 15km so you can pick how far and what you want to ride. Great ridding for $5. So if you ever get a chance some day take your bike and $5 and drive on down to Hard Wood.

These trails are great no matter what level you are, there is some great single track, some tough downhill, a lot of roots even some north shore catwalks. Give your self a lot of time because there is a lot of space out there and you can end up going in ircles. It's situated between Durham Forest and Dagmar but there is less of a crowd and it's free. Relatively easy to find, take lakeridge road north of the 401 for about 15-20 k then turn left at Lakeridge Ski hill keep heading west and you will hit a ravel road turn left just before the road starts to go into a valley and follow the twists and turns until you see the three rocks on your right. You should see the trail start right there. Bring a compass, power bar, water and some mary jane and enjoy he ride. Have a good one and please e-mail me if you have any great trails up in Simcoe county.

About 30-40 min from Kingston, 20 min from Gan, just north of Lansdowne. Take 401 east (out of Kingston or Gan), take Renalds Road Exit and head north. Pass directly through small village of Lansdowne, head north for about 10 km till you hit Warburton d and turn right (east)...you should be able to see the mountain in the distance off to the left (north)...go to straight till you get to the 90 degree turn in the road, park at the end of the (unmarked) dirt road and ride in! It's a good, technical ride, about 7-10 km to the top. Watch out for hikers! The trail will take you around to the north side of the mountain, where you'll start the climb. Although it's tough, it's rideable! The descent can be quite a rush. When you reach the top, the wiew is pretty awesome. Watch for the trail that will take you further north, it's not a loop, so you'll have to turn back after a few km's. It's not bad, pretty fast, but a little short. Just a few miles north is Charleston Lake Provincial Park if you wanna make it a weekend. You're not allowed to bike the trails here, but they are great for hikin with a lot of points that you can swim off of. Bring a canoe if you've got one. If you're not sure of the directions, don't hesitate to contact me, it's really easy to find though.

Eden Mills, ON - 12/31/99 23:54:06
Beginner Friendly (yes/no): yes
Technical Terrain (yes/no): yes
Your name: the Pope
Nearest City / Town: Guelph, ON

Comments:
This trail starts off in Guelph. First off, you cut through a great off-road trail system that runs alongside downtown's Speed River. This trail will exit on a highway. Cross the highway and look for a Boy Scout camp. The new trail starts right off the dr veway to the camp. Follow the Scout camp trail to the top of a hill. There's a road leading down. Take the road, then turn right. Go up for a couple minutes then on your left you will see a trail cut through the woods will a wooden gate of sorts leading t the entry. Once you're on this wooded trail, you can either follow it out to the end, or cut left onto a narrow trail that leads up some nice slopes. If you're into hill-climbing, the latter is the best choice. Both the hill trail and the forest trail wi l dump you in an area marked with "No Trespassing" and "Private property" signs. Ignore these. Keep biking to the end. The trail will get very technical and rocky (but not that steep). Eventually, the trail will lead up to a road, right by a big "for sale sign. There's a town nearby, named Eden Mills. The last part of the trail is a real sweat-fest. A great overall system that's kind of like a bunch of mini-systems all put together. Takes maybe ninety minutes to ride the whole trail from start to finish.

Guelph Lake, Gorba Trail - 12/31/99 23:45:12
Beginner Friendly (yes/no): yes
Technical Terrain (yes/no): yes
Your name: Sean
Nearest City / Town: Guelph, ON

Comments:
This is a very scenic, very mixed trail. Some steep inclines, but nothing that most bikers couldn't handle. Some of the trails cut through a very beautiful forested area and lead right down to the lake (you can swim and ride, if you want). Nice, winding paths and lots of surprises. Go off the main trail and you'll find all sorts of great little hills and weird slopes. It's such a big area that you won't be bothered by lots of other bikers or hikers. So much of this trail system is forested that it can easily be tackled in rainy weather (the trails in the woods get muddy, but are still rideable).

Comments:
Believe it or not, there is a very challenging off-road trail almost in the geographical centre of Toronto. It's the Don Valley trail, and the off-road part isn't actually listed on any official trail maps in the city. At the bottom of Pottery Rd., go lef over some RR tracks and up one of two trails on the side of a hill. Trails go on forever, and some are extremely technical. Some good slopes. Be prepared to sweat. If you do the complete trail, it's quite a workout. Be careful about going on the slopes w en it's muddy - easy wipeouts. One big advantage - if you do wipeout, you're always fairly close to civilization on this trail.

You can find this gnarly single track in Bowmanville just off hwy#2, just east of regional road 57 (north of the 401). It starts behind the old mill. When heading east into Bowmanville turn right just before the bridge over the river and then immediately left and park down in the lot. Ride behind the old mill (its stoes now) and follow the trail. There is some wicked riding, very steep, several bridges (including the bridge of doom!). when you come out to the paved road, cross the bridge and follow the rail along the river to the left again. Always follow the river. When you get to the fallen down bridge, cross the river. Follow the trail to the coffe shop - turnaround and go back - about 11 klm each way - some pretty technical stuff but a lot of fun nd challenge not to "dab"!

Gatineau Park offers many trails mostly double track, easy riding, but take one of the single track off shoots and you could be in for the ride of your life. Lots of technical with switch backs, drop offs, roots, and bolders to get lots of air off of.Many of the double track will take you to smaller towns, and belive it or not there are trail signs with distances to the next town. My favorite trail! The old mill trail past Chelsea off of highway 105. From Ottawa follow King Edward drive North over the Ottawa river into Hull,Quebec follow signs 105 to Chelsea. At the off ramp turn left into Chelsea, drive through staying to the le t, the rode gets very windy. You pass a skill hill on the left, keep going and on the right hand side you will see a booth for a parking, lot enter here. Word of advise; Try to get there before 9am, you won't have to pay for parking. Have fun and good lu k... If anyone nose of some good intermediate trails in and around the eastern part of Ontario I would definitly like to no.

Comments:
Im not so sure that erosion is caused by mountain bikers as i am that forest destruction is caused by mountain bikers. being a Hiker of many years who has taken up mountain biking. I can look at both sides of the coin with an unbiass opinion. I recall a mountain in BC, Burnaby mnt. (one of the smaller mountains of BC) the whole mountain is a park except for the Simon Fraser University at the top. I grew up near this park and froliked in forrest often. shortly after mountain biker became comon I supose arount the time kmart stoped selling 10 speed road bikes and started selling mountain bikes. several or maybe even more than several new trails had oped up where before no trail existed. I used to know every trail very well. now the mountain is rancid with mountain bike trails and those people who wish to hike up the mounatin take there life into there own hands whan taking the main trail due to the peed and frequency of mountain bikers. I supose what i wanted to say was dont blaze a new train in a beutiful forest. it makes me angry

This is addressed to Peter and anyone else who blames erosion on bikers. That thought is an interesting thought yet an ignorant, selfish, uneducated one. As an owner of a 2 km bike trail near Kanata and Stittsville I can tell you that bikes make up maybe 0% of the erosion and hikers make up 10% as well. Erosion is a problem with all well used trails be it hiker, biker or both. The real culprit for erosion on all trails is the Spring melting and the rain that we get. To say that bikers are the "Key factor n erosion" is ludicrous and stupid. Next time you should look into what the hell you're talking about!

The Ridge is the greatest place to play but this is a word of caution learned the hard way. There's some pretty brutal poison oak and ivy in the valley. I know this because my boyfriend had to p... and caught a severe case of poison oak, breaking out in h rrible sores and stuff too gross to describe in detail. If you do end up in the bushes for one reason or another, keep an eye on your bodyparts that may have got in contact, watch out for irritated skin and bumps, and don't let it be diagnosed as shingles Despite all that, the Ridge is still the Ridge, and a great place to hang out ... just save your bathroom break for later. Enjoy.

Comments:
Also in response to Peter. As a mountainbiker I take issue with your comments. (sorry Peter, you're not going to get much support on this site I reckon) I feel that most mountainbikers are very considerate of the problems of trail maintenance and erosion I for one never ride in early spring when the trails are more vulnerable to damage. Also I am very considerate to give way to hikers I encounter on the trail and dismount if necessary. When are people going to realize that both hikers and mountain b kers can contribute more to trail conservation and development together instead of fighting over who has the right to use a trail system intended to be enjoyed by all.

This is addressed to Peter, the one who regards bikers as the key factor in erosion on the Bruce's Trail. I hate to tell you but a pair feet trudging along a trail have more impact on the soil composition than that of two rubber tires making contact with a trail at 25km/h. Secondly I know many a people whose homes and property are a component of the Bruce's Trail, they are more than willing and happy to allow the use of the trails to riders. The Bruce's trail is maintained by people who frequent it and ant to see it survive. By you saying that bikers are the key reason for natural occurences is outrageous and ignorant. You might as well tell the thousands of rock climbers who climb on the rock faces scattered along the trail that they are the key fact r in erosion as well. The next time you vouch for a mass of land three quarters the size of Ontario, educate yourself on its unbiased purposes.

Much of it is on private land by kind consent of owners, who for their own reasons do not want erosion, liability etc problems. You could jeopardize long-standing relationships and the very integrity of this far too rare resource for hikers. Probably the most fun mountainbiking I've had in the Burlington/Waterdown area. Can be accessed from several ways. You can highway 5 from Waterdown and a short ride through Rockcliffe survey. Also can go by the Bruce Trail from Snake Rd. via Hidden Val ey (bitch of a hill to walk your bike up though). Ride about half a click up a slight incline of technical and cross the railway tracks. Excellent maze of trails. Different combinations will keep you from getting bored. Combinations of short steep downhills and long slopes. Watch for hikers and make sure your in good shape or have a really good bike. I've moved to Ottawa recently. Any recomendations?.

Take Hwy.# 24 south through Simcoe. Go past the downtown area then turn left on Woodhouse St. and then right on Owen St. until it ends. There's a parking lot here. Take the Lynn Valley Rail Trail east from here. Just over the first bridge, the fun trails tart on both sides. There's only 3 to 4 kms. of trails here but they are well worth the ride if you're in the area. It ranges from rail trail to some short but gnarly singletrack. There are a couple of purpose-built (thanks!) switch-backs that would chall nge any rider. With a little exploring, you'll come across the remains of a rail bridge and Brook's Mill. You can also stay on the Lynn Valley Rail Trail and go the 8 km. to Port Dover for an Arbor "foot-long" and return.

You now enter the woods and travel along the Escartment, lots of roots and rocks, but not too technical. Be careful not to get to close to the edge ,on your right hand side,BIG drop off. The trail will bring you back to your car,but the Bruce continues on right across the street from where you parked.I wouldn't tavel too far to ride here, but if your in the area stop by for a little excitement.

Side trails range from very narrow with a grass base to very narrow and steep with nothing but rocks and tree stumps. I had an excellent 2 hour workout and didn't see most of the place. Take highways 401 to the Milton/Halton hills turnoff which is highway 25. Turn north and follow the signs. you will turn west (left) When you see the hilton falls and Kelso signs. Kelso and rattlesnke point are in the area as well. Kelso allows biking. the other doesnt. Haven't been there yet though. Regards, Danny

In a nutshell - mountain bikin' heaven. Bring an iron lung! The trail runs along the backside of Osler Ski Hill. It's accessible at either the bottom or top...I recommend starting at the top, otherwise you start your ride with good mile uphill. You hav everything from old logging roads, technical hairpin downhill turns, amazing single track...even a secluded lake for skinny dipping...eyes open for hikers. Used to be unknown but becoming more popular. Too hard to describe how to get to...Go to Squire J hn's (on Hwy. 26 just before Thornbury) ask for a FAT MAP. Gives details on trail systems in the area. See you there!

Going up Bayview turn into the faomous Pottery Road. Right before the rail road there's a tril leding up the hill. Drag your bike up or, if you can handle it, ride up. On top is the best off road mt. biking is the city. This tral is too hard even for the expert. I'v been on it tens of times yet every time I go theres something new. This trail runs easstward, along a branch of the Don River parallel to the Don Biking Trail(that's all paved), and behind the water treatment plant. This trail is wet often so e carefull. The best part about this trail is that is was not prffesionally designed with all the hazards removed. It's more like a trail worn out of the forest by the few that go through it. This trail crosses some deep "cannions" almost so you'll find three ver steep and long declines, one almost fifty feet high, acompanied by those beutifull inclines everyome looks foward too. You may think it's gonna be easy when you start, but by the time you're at the end (if you make it to the end) you'll realize why there are so few people. Bring a city biking map along and if you get lost the first time, try a different route next time.

Keep going and you get to a big hill you have to go up. But then you get to o down. Hope you have good brakes!!!

G down Upper Middle till you get to Tansley woods library and swimming pool.( There is a snack bar there.) It is way cool. If you live in the Toronto area and want to ride some gnarly and extreme trails, then look no further. The Etobicoke creek trails run from Burnhamthorpe to the airport on both sides of the creek. These trails are raw and unused. They feature some reall radical downhills and climbs with roots, rocks, logs and jumps. But the best feature of this trail would have to be the super technical singletracks which go along the edge of a 40 foot cliffs on both side of the creek (I'd like to see someone ride the reek without putting their foot down at least once!). I'm available to show riders the trails, but I do recommend that you bring your health card along! The Etobicoke Creek IS Toronto's best kept secret.

Ur not allowed in the Royal Botanical Gardens unless U say Ur going on the Bruce Trail. I went on the Bruce Trail there and it is very technical with some hills. After that I was kinda bored so I went on the Coote's trail. On all of the main and marked tr ils it's smooth and not rough at all (way beginner freindly). But as soon as U hit the unmarked trails U can go down some narly descents that lead right into the bay, of course U could always make a way tight turn and end up hitting some geese, squirrels, chipmunks, nuthatces, wood-peckers, innocent hikers and whatever else that might be in the way.I have to go now so E-mail me for more info.

These trails are awesome. Ther's these huge hills that U have to go up,but all U have to remember is what goes up must come down. There is lots of trees to swerve through and lots of different trails to choose from. When me and my friend went there we tried riding across the cree . Then we were trying to show these other two kids up and we ended up driving through the creek all day, upstream and down stream. There is some wicked rocks to go over, and some awesome drop-offs into the water and in the water. All I can say is YOU'LL G T WAY WET!!!

This is a nice beginner trial that also offers something for the more advanced rider, if you know where to look. Access is gained on the north side of Mulock Drive just east of Cane Pkwy in Newmarket (between Yonge St. and Bayview ave. near the train tr cks) and continues north following the course of the river about 10km to Roger's Reservoir Conservation area. This is where the tougher singletrack is to be found, on the west side of the reservoir. Also note the old lock system located all through this a ea. Good luck and watch out for pedestrians.

Hike your bike over the fence take a left and ride down the road until you see trail. Hike bike back over fence and begin more fun. More than one trail can scome back on different trail. Fol ow hwy 10 to hockley Valley road. Turn right on road toward resort. go up large hill and look for trail on your left. Better to park car at bottom so you can ride down the hill when you're done. This trail can be user friendly and can also be a challenge to an experienced rider in some spots. There are scetchy ravines and uphills, there are also a lot of fast downhills. The trail is free to ride, eventhough mountain bikers are not allowed me and the crew ride it often. It is a good trail if you are willing to deal with HOHA [hateful old hike s association]. If ever in London check out the Meadowlilly Trail. It is a good 2-3 hour ride there is always another path that you haven't yet travelled. Directions: Hamilton Rd. by the YMCA there is a gas station across the street go down that street and across the old beat down bridge. Continue on down the road until you see a white picket fence as soon as the white picket fence ends the trail begins o the left side of the road. There is a chance you could over look it so keep your eyes peeled. There is also a trail on the right side of the road which is pretty @#$*!@ poopy! Happy trails from the All Mighty Pop-a-Lots

Directions: Take Highland Road West past Fisher-Hallman. Turn right at the first turnoff after the yellow barn (this entrance looks like a driveway, and it is partially). Cross over tracks and immediately to the right there is a parking spot for about 2 cars. Trail Description: Trail starts after chain. First bit has a lot of loose gravel. Take heart, after about the 1km you'll get to better stuff. The pine forest has some very technical trails (toughest I've biked anywhere in s/w Ontario--better than Kelso). Rumor has is these trails are maintained by a local bike shop. As you get out of the pine forest toward the hydro lines, the trails are less technical and can be taken with some speed. These trails alledgly go all the way to New Hamburg following the power lines, but I've only taken them as far as the road which con ects Petersburg and St. Agatha. There are also a bunch of trails though a hardwood forest which are good as well. If yoiu are adding trails, please include exact directions. Nice trails, scenic, very challenging technical and unforgiving dense forest to the point of creating a love/hate passion the whole ride, especially the western section. Some double track "ski trail" sections. Just when you are dying of exhaustion when ou reach the "Ridge Top" and can't go any more, the trail finally opens up into nice, fast pine trails with a few tricky switchbacks. (I would recommend others to warm up on the Deer trail before hitting the difficult hills at the start of Achilles). The trail designer is a little sadistic in the way he likes to "strategically" place trees in the tight turns and switchbacks of the single track (Most of the single-track is little more than shoulder width). If your timing on these sections is just slig tly off, you do a nice body check into a tree, or hook your bar-end into a damn sapling. Even though I loved these dares, you start to tire of them because they are constant. I find there is usually only a handlebar width through many turns and switchbac s. "Beaver Tooth" is definitely a "must try", and I found myself swearing with a stupid smile on my face this whole lumpy, twisty section. The downhill section after "Big Kahuna" looks easy (steep though) but is full of "body sized" pot holes at least 1 foot deep that are covered with leaves. I did a beautiful endo down this section. I love the fact that most of the soil is loam and wood decay, and makes falls and wipe outs kind of "cushy", and pushes me to take more risk without fear of destroying my body. Conclusion... I would rate it the 3rd best place to mountain bike in southern Ontario after Hardwood Hills and Dagmar resort. If you like tight, deep forest single-track; this place is your style!

Nice little trail for a small town. If you are heading North on highway 35, stop, you might enjoy yourself...The place doesn't see many mountain bike enthusiasts, so be careful..They don't turn us away. But don't leave the trail..or any garbage. If you wa t a challenge..try the boardwalk when its wet...or dry...Keep it slow unless you want to swim home... Enjoy ..

Kelso may be a diamond in the rough. Not only do you have the conservation area, which is perfect for beginners, but you also have a ski hill, that is riddled with technical trails all throughout the bush. But it does get even better than that. A few of m friends and I went up to Rattlesnake Point and did some Climbing and Riding for a weekend. It kicked some serious ass. Not only is Rattlesnake point challenging, it's totally fucking dangerous!. Check it out. Take Steeles Ave West, until you come to a hilled crossroad in Milton. You'll see signs for Glen Eden Ski resort, keep going straight on Steeles, up the hill. You'll get to a dead end, where you wnat to make a left. Follow the signs, and you'll soon be th re. Don't forget to bring some ropes and a cell phone may come in handy. Not for the weak stomached. LATER!

Take Appleby line north until the end. That leaves you at the corner of Appleby and #5 Side Road. 100m to the west is the entrance to the conservation area. Admission is $3.25 per adult.

The Ganaraska Forest covers 44,000 hectares or roughly 90,000acres. It is a multi-use area used by horses, hikers and mountain bikers. To get there go north on Highway from the 401. Take Sideroad 9 east at Kirby. The left hand turn to the forest is well sign posted. Park in the parking lot at the head of the trails. There are various other entrances to the park but this is the easiest one to find. There is an honour system for the paying of day passes. Please be sure and pay as this contributes to the upkeep of the forest. The best place to start riding is on the cross country ski trails. They all start from the parking lot and are well marked. Bring lots of water. If you decide to ride off the ski trails it is easy to get lost. The terrain is quite hilly but the e are some great roller coaster runs which really allow you to pick up speed. Any time I have been there there have been very few people so it's a great place to ride if you want to really get away.

An awesome place located in Santa's Village, Bracebridge. Take 400 north from Toronto until you get to Bracebridge, and just follow the signs to Santa's Village. Porcupine Ridge consists of a double track loop (approx. 3 km) with several challenging, tech ical single tracks branching off from the double track. "Devil's Backbone" is a good technical test and "Gravity Gulch" is extremely technical, but still it is quite fun. "Corkscrew" is all tight and twisty switchbacks that is all downhill. A great place o ride (and the only real mountain bike area) in the Muskoka area. Contact Ecclestone cycles in Bracebridge for more info.

forgot email address last message...there is a neat little trail that is hard to find here in Guelph. Head out Wellington road towards cambridge ( wellington becomes highway 24 ) and at the last set of lights before the big hill ( there is a furniture st re there, i can't remember the name of the street that intersects ) on the left hand side ( south side ) there is a big-ass fence. The fence ends here and there is a trail that follows the edge of the fence towards the river. Follow this trail and it go s through some pretty fun single track, no big climbs, but lots of logs roots and slippery rocks to climb over. If you stay on the trail closest to the river, it comes out on Niska road, and if you head right from where you come out near the bridge on ni ka down to the bend in the road, there is another trail head that eventually meets up near the head of the first trail. There are likely more sub trails in there, but these two are the main two. Very fun riding. I think its about 7 or 8 km total.

If you want to start from Guelph, there is a really nice mostly flat trail that starts just off Gordon street ( east side, first street south of the bridge over the eramosa river )...go to the end of that street and you'll find a little access road for th golf course that's on the right side. Follow this until you reach the big-ass pile of rocks and portage it ( or hop across if you are part monkey ), the trail continues on the other side...follow this until you end up underneath a big bridge, this is vi toria road. Keep following the trail eastward...it eventually turns south ( but you'd never know it ) and hits stone road. cross this road, and go through the trail at the boy scout camp. it ends up on another dirt road on which you will head east ( le t when you exit the trail ). this meets up with watson road, turn south on watson road ( right ) and its only a short distance to a double-track trail on your left that is protected from motor vehicles by a big-ass gate, but has a nice entrance for biker and hikers ( idiots with dogs ). From here, you can end up most anywhere. If you follow it straight through, you will eventually end up just outside of Erin Mills, or if you turn and cross the big concrete dam ( 1.6km from the gate, turn right ) you ca ride fireroads and single track for quite a while. There is a monster hill that i've never seen anyone climb yet. I've made it about 2/3 of the way on my crud bike. Can't wait till I get a better bike. There are trails all over the place in here.

Kelso is "Your All-Season Outdoor Recreation Centre" (or something like that). In the winter it's a ski hill, but its worth to MTBers is no secret. You start the ride with a short but steep climb, on a gravel road alongside the ski lift, to the top of th Niagara Escarpment. Let's call this spot the trailhead. The bush behind the ski hill is riddled with technical trails, double and singletrack, most with a nice downhill slope away from the trailhead (good for scary speed). Most trails are short, and end up back at the trailhead. This makes Kelso good for beg nners. What should give beginners pause is the non-beginner nature of some of the technical stuff. Newbies, don't come alone. Keep your group together, as the trails cross and branch often. There's a sweet downhill back to the bottom of the ski-hill, if you can find it! More technical than the Dundas Valley Con., but smaller, too. This place has more non-stop action than a Lethal Weapon flick! Worth the drive to Milton. Take the 401 west to Hwy 25, go north to Campbellville Rd (at lights, not far). Turn left and go west about 2 clicks to Tremaine Rd (there are Kelso signs from here). South on Tremaine and right at first road. Keep going west until you get to the gates ($3.25/person). Bring lots of water because there's none. For the Apres-boot, look South of the 401 on Hwy 25 for fast-food fortification before the drive home.

Hi there. WEll, in case you haven't noticed, me and my bud Scott up there love to moutain bike in Sarnia. There aren't very many trails around here though, so we try to make up our own trips. As of a couple months ago, we've been doing roughly a 30 km b keride up this route, every week, to visit some friends, and basically keep in shape. We're very lazy, so this gets us up and doing stuff. We head east on Confederation Rd until we hit Brigden Sd. Rd. We then turn right or south onto Brigden. We head own that way for a bit, stop into a few of our friends houses, no names mentioned, go past Churchill Rd, and continue going straight until we hit Marshall Lane. Oh yeah, after awhile, you get used to the lovely country smell. WE turn right on Marshall u til we get to our friend Carlie's house. Then we stop for a bit, and head back. If ya do it all with out stopping, it should take you roughly an hour. WE do it around 25-30 km/h so just take your time and enjoy the country life. Just watch out for the traffic, it's not bad once you turn on Brigden Sd. Rd, but Confederation is a main road, they tend to go a little fast. Have a fun time, me and Scott always do.

This trail is basically a few trails combined into one. The St. Clair Parkway is a paved, 2 lane road which runs from Sarnia Ontario to Mitchells bay. The ride is calm from Mitchell's bay to Sarnia which is about 60km. The traffic is fine. Good for a begi ning biker. Once you get into Sarnia you will notice that the parkway stops at the St.Clair river. There is a long line of CNR tracks which run side by side with the river. These tracks have since been removed and the area patted down. Excellent for speed riding in gravel and sand. The tracks will lead you to Sarnia Bay. Here there is a short 1km ride around the bay to the Government Docks. The trail splits for a few seconds from here. Once you get to the Government docks you will get on River Rd. Follow r ver road to the top at Exmouth St. You will make a left and come up to Venetian BLVD(don't think I spelled it right) turn Left on to the BLVD and follow it. Directly in front of you are the twin bridges.. Ride up to the end of the Blvd. There will be a di t road just past the Yacht Club(Bridgeview Marina) Turn Left here and ride up to the CN rail Sheds.. Take a breather as the terain from now on is tricky. You will want to be in control at all times. Ride down underneath the bridges. Follow Michiagn Ave if you want to. There is a asphalt trail which rides up to a hill. This monster is the Environment Hill. Nice hill, Hard climc if you don't know what you are doing or are in the wrong gear. Get to the top and ride down. Follow the road past the other Yacht C ub (Sarnia Yacht Club) and you will come back to the asphalt trail. Go through the Wood and ride up to the end.. You will cross Albert St. at some APRT's. Cross over and around the wood(the trail around courtesy of me and ryan) Follow it. Now you have a c oice. The more experienced Riders whoudl go left at the fork. This takes you on to a wood chip trail.. very tricky, Your tires slide everywhere. The Beginner's Stay right o the path. You will both meet at the same place. Once you reach the paved walkway s op and look around. You should see a parking lot, a baseball field and washrooms. Turn Left into the Clearing. You can go straight or take the turn. Straight is no fun.. Just takes you to a huge hill that is smooth. The other way takes you up and around t en when you think it is over you round a corner and go down and have to make a tough climb up a steep grade. The ruts, rocks and grass make the ride up a little hard. Get to the top and you are home free. You are now in Tarzan land. Jumps galore.. Ryan an I call this area our second home. Have a ball BUT the forest is technically off limits to bikes courtesy of some idiot who was watching where he was going and plowed into a group of ederly people. You can ride it but keep an eye out for people. The turns are sharp and greasy. You will slide. You have to use your smarts and gadge your speed. Other then that have fun at 1 of 2 good Sarnia trails.

Hi there!! This is a very simple trail which used to be an old railroad line. It's about 16 km and is a gravel trail, but is relatively smooth. Good for all types of bike. But watch out for the walkers cuz this isn't just a bike trail. I ride this tr il at least once a week. Enjoy.

A very pleasant ride at railroad grades (uphill towards Brantford) that takes you through some really pretty scenery, as well as by the trail- head of the Dundas Valley system.

Near Guelph Lake. At the end of the Royal City Recreation Trail, which begins in Riverside Park and runs North and South throughout the city. An excellent beginners set of trails, with some more demanding technical sections for the experienced rider. Nothing too tuff. Well maintained. Run by G.O.R.B.A. (Guelph Off Road Biking Assoc.)

As I've said in my personal page this is the most varied and extensive network of trails you're going to find anywhere in the Hamilton area.
The DVCA has something for every level of rider.
To get there, follow Governors d. West about 3km past Main St.
You can get to Main St. by taking the Main St. West exit off the 403 as it winds through Hamilton.
Once you know the trails you'll also discover all kinds of back entrances throughout Dundas and Ancaster.
Enjoy!
