Chain-O-Lakes
Sandy and Beck in front of the tent, fishing at one
of the many small lakes that make up the chain. Each spot feels secluded yet the total
park area is easily walked in an hour. You can see the winding park road behind us
bordered by another lake. For a daily activity try renting a canoe or horseback riding on the many trails. |
Good Morning! Crystal and dad cook bacon and eggs on the camp stove early in the morning. The lake is shrouded with a thin mist as the sun rises. |
Chain-O-Lakes Resort and Conference center is loacated about 40 miles northeast of Houston, Texas at: One Country Lane, Cleveland, TX 77327. Call them 713-592-2150.
You can visit their official site online at which has directions, rates, maps of the lakes along with other info. Be forewarned, you won't find a reference to tent camping but I can tell you it's seasonal and ONLY on weekends. I found the rates too expensive for us last summer. It now cost $20.00 per night for 1 or 2 people, you MUST pay for 2 nights, and each extra person over the age of 13 is $10.00 PER night. That means if we take our 4 kids camping it would cost $120.00. Yes... IN OUR OWN TENT!
fishing pole holder is solid wood, mounts on the wall and holds 6 rod and reels. Mounts easily and securely with 2 screws. 18 inches wide. |
