Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

1756-1791

The greatest piece of work done by Mozart in my opinion is the haunting Requiem that Mozart never finished. It is a dark, brooding yet strangely uplifting. This was Mozarts Swan song to the world, Just to know that a Dying man wrote this is unsettling, But to know he knew he was dying is more haunting.

To clear the air though, Mozarts death at the tragic age of 35 was no more than bad nutrition and a flu that was going around Vienna. To blame Antonio Salerri is to blame the wind, For he had no hand in Wofgangs death. And Salerri did not order the Mass as shown in "Amadeus". Count Walsegg of Vienna had ordered the mass for his wife, But did not disclose his name because he planned to pass off the work as his own.

If Mozart had lived to 70, How much more would he have written? How many more immortal classics would we have? When Mozart died December 5th, 1791 at 1am, He had composed 626 works of music. From Concertos, To Operas to Masses to Symphonies. Would he have composed another 626? or More? Well, Just as Mother Earth gives, She takes away. If you do listen to the Requiem Mass By Mozart, Listen to the Haunting Confutatis, Maledictis. The Voca may voices in Unison are astounding to hear, Almost like the life is repenting now that the time of death is upon them.
