A lot of people, who are good judges in music, and audience gathered to the Town Hall of Torun. They dispersed unwillingly after the concert and stayed for paying compliments to the charming choir Aidija.

"The Spring of Torun is Lasting" by V.Markeliuniene from
"Lietuvos aidas", Lithuania, 14 May 96

To my mind the choir Aidija is a real treasure for our composers, the conductor of which together with the singers are able in a very short period of time to overcome the stages of creative laboratory and the knowledge of the score. And as an outcome of this they demonstrate qualitative artistic results on the stage.

the Festival "Jauna muzika"
by V.Markeliuniene from
"Lietuvos aidas", Lithuania, 03 May 96&

Experience of interpretation of old music is a weighty merit of another participant - Chamber Choir Aidija -, especially proved useful in performing the new Requiem by O.Balakauskas.

"Clear Requiem in memoriam S.Lozoraitis" by R.Gostautiene from
"7 meno dienos", Lithuania, 05 Apr 96

---------------------------------------------------

At the concert a clear (as always) intonation of the choir, mobility of dynamics, ability to perform works of different epochs and traditions one after another in a great style. Members of Aidija Choir perform music with joy as if having no pretensions neither to a nice hall nor crowds of listeners, nor some reward of other kind, just as a joyous discovery of art's beauty. Unwillingly, an old legend comes to the memory about a hero who has built stone castles with sounds of music...

"Big Bernardin Organ for Vilnius" by D.Kalavinskaite from
"Lietuvos rytas", Lithuania, 25 Aug 95

Discipline, enthusiasm, meditative force, and ability to perform a wonderful piano are specific features of the Choir.

"Kraft der Stille in Liedern aus der Renaissance" by Anonym from
"Neustadt-Waldnaab", Germany, 07 Aug 95

Aidija Chamber Choir filled the hall with the sound which was very delicate and clear and of integral timbre. [...] The Choir pleasantly surprised with the nice ensemble and subtle interpretation of miniatures.

"Competition of Three Choirs" by G.Venislovas from
"Siaures Atenai", Lithuania, 27 May 95

---------------------------------------------------

...Music for another night was the 20th century French choir opus, which has been prepared by Aidija Choir especially for the "Kopos" (Festival in Klaipeda "Dunes", Lithuania). [...] The concert not only satisfied curiosity but arose aesthetic excitement as well. [...] This music is as a fragile and clear porcelain of subtle forms. Aidija did not brake this china.

"The Second Modern Music Festival "Dunes" by L.Vilimiene from
"Lietuvos rytas", Lithuania, 26 May 95

---------------------------------------------------

In the hall of the Gymnasium of the February 16th (Hüttenfeld, Germany) even the Lithuania's Ambassador to Germany Mr. V.Antanaitis was present, who called Aidija after the concert real ambassadors of Lithuania - "without competition". Response of the audience caused joy: "We have not heard anything like that for 30 years. Come back again." [...] The audience of Witlich after the concert was applauding standing and got the Choir to give an on-call - additional compositions of lithuanian music, not planned in the program.

"Trips of Aidija" by R.Kazlauskaite from
"Meno savaite", Lithuania, 20 Nov 92

Young people perform classical music which for them as for the students of musical schools or conservatoire "got in" the ears long time ago(...). They perform it without gray obligation and boredom, even from a new angle( ..). Modern choir orthography(...) has shown the Choir's ability to perform a complicated texture - 20 people fully sufficed to fill up even the eight-part space. Conductor's precision was one more Choir's "engine" which helped the Choir to overcome such a really difficult repertoire.

"The Balts' Season Started" by G.Gapsys from
"Septynios meno dienos", Lithuania, 16 Nov 92

---------------------------------------------------

The first day of the Festival started with the performance of the world standard Choir Aidija from Lithuania in the Contest of Mixed Choirs. This Choir received 269 points (out of 300 possible - L.L.) and pushed down Youth Choir from Stockholm to the second place and the Choir "Fenix" from England to the third place.
