JUST PLAIN FOLKS

Remarkable, isn't it?  We go to the opera, listen to recordings, view videos and the gods and goddesses we see and hear make us ooze with great fulfilment with their artistry.  These people are, in certain cases, super human.  They sing as no pedestrian person can sing.  They prove (we hope) time after time that there is truly nothing run-of-the-mill about them.  But is all of that true all of the time?  Actually not.  They eat, sleep, drink, very much, if not exactly as we do.  They relax, play, shop, walk and sit very much as we do.  They are not, in most cases very different from us.  In the pictorial section which follows, OPERA MADNESS brings you a collection of the great voices as people.  Not divas or divos,  but  just plain folks. Here they are with their families, friends and sometimes colleagues at barbeques, swimming, relaxing, eating, reading and essentially doing not much at all.  Many of the pictures you'll see in this area are video captures from home movies, so kindly excuse some of the pictorial resolution.  They are not professionally photographed, just as your home movies and snapshots are.  They just are picures of unusual people being very usual.
