This page will be updated as the movie idea progresses.

It will be a vampire movie (go figure). The idea is to use LARPing concepts to create a groundbreaking movie that will show you another world buried under humanity. This is not literal. They will not be hidden underground. Some of them may dwell underground like the morlocks in X-Men, but they will live in houses, sleep in beds, follow modern fashion, watch TV...etc. It is not some stupid idea about pale people in capes with widow peaks. This is about an organized civilization trying to maintain a of political structure and live peacefully blending into human society without being recognized or noticed. I'm of course leaving out the part where some of them are bad and will try to eat some of humanity. Of course if they were to be discovered, they would be hunted and killed and experimented on. Their existence is also based on covering up any unexplained incidents, there will be vampires in every profession. They are every walk of life to help keep their existence hush-hush and fingers will remained pointed at other people for these strange events occurring.

Obviously there will be lots more to this than meets the eye. This will be something that will be pointed out throughout the movie. The plot itself will be only somewhat different. It will have to do with the breach of the little barrier between the two worlds. Then we'll see what kind of hell breaks loose and what the result of it all will be and how it will be covered up like some conspiracy. I have a rough idea as to what's going to happen...but...I don't have the solid idea with characters. That's what the e-group I have is for. Its current topic is talking about the screenplay and people are giving lots of good ideas! Please! Visit it! Join and post! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Vampire_LARP

Roughly, it opens up with there will be a person who is killed at the very beginning - a man (Michael). This might be the prelude to the movie, finding a body or just attending his funeral. It will focus in on a woman in her early twenties, (Dana) his sister. (I go to an all women's college...so the heroin is going to be female). He has died from a gunshot wound. Dana believes he has been murdered because he was currently investigating the disappearance of his fiance (Catherine). She sees his death as a sign that he was getting too close to whatever he thought was the truth. She thought this to be a planned death while her parents and most of her friends thought it was an accident. It's the streets of Manhattan! People get shot all the time! (And you wonder why they call it Manhattan clam chowder. It's because of the blood that constantly runs through the streets of NY!)

A day after the funeral, she receives something in the mail. It is a videotape. It is her brother on the tape. He says that if she is viewing this, he is dead and it was no accident. The recording remains extremely vague because if it were to fall in the hands of the "wrong" people, they wouldn't have the faintest idea what he was talking about. It will say something like "I need your help." yadda yadda ... "I need you to promise never to tell anyone what you are about to do for me. I need you to give someone a key to my office. I need you to obtain a copy of this key and give it to someone." there's a pause. "It's that guy I introduced you to on the 4th of July." Is it very vague. "I have a spare key hidden in that place where I used to hide your stuff." He continues. "I need you to give it to him. He'll find you within the next couple of days." He pauses and looks serious. "After you do this, it is really important that you turn around and walk away and don't look back. Forget there was ever a key, forget the guy, and forget about this video tape."

Everything goes as planned. She obtains the spare key hidden in his room which is now converted into a third bedroom or something random like a computer room. It is taped to the bottom of the heater. Along with the key she finds a silver necklace she had been searching for since she was fifteen. "Son of a..." she is mad only for a moment and then gives a weak smile and places it around her neck. Maybe here she has a flashback of she and him fighting when they were teenagers over jewelry he would "borrow" from to give to his girlfriend. Then, flash back to her with the key and

Things go as planned and she will be sitting in a bar on a Friday night with a glass of white wine in front of her. The guy (Iain) will approach her in the bar and sit down and engage in small talk. After a while, she will shake his hand as he leaves, giving him the key secretly. He exits and she immediately follows him, lurking in the shadows, careful not to be followed or noticed. She's wearing all black, so hiding unnoticed is something she's rather good at. She watches as he approaches an abandoned building. It is almost 1 am. She watches as looks at the house, somewhat upset. He then turns and tosses the key into a trash can. He walks to the closest parked car, a dark, inconspicuous car, and climbs in. He drives away. Dana races to the door of the abandoned building and lifts the lid of the trash can and fishes out the key. "Dumbass" she says. She then tries to find a way into the house, yanking at the boards boarding up the doors and windows. They don't budge. She eventually kicks in one of the boards and walks in, pulling a flashlight from her pocket. She can see there are gasoline jugs everywhere and an explosive sitting on the floor with a counter at 13 minutes counting down. She curses and curses and curses and sets her watch for 13 minutes and proceeds to look around the house for anything leading down. She finds lots of locked doors, after a few minutes, she decides to try the key. She discovers that they work on all the doors. Most of what is behind the doors are old bedrooms, dirty bathrooms, or closets. She finally unlocks a door that has another door behind it, with a staircase and then a large metal door at the bottom. That key works and the door swings open. With her flashlight, she observes the room. It is neat, just like his room at home was. The only thing on the desk a somewhat thick folder and a laptop computer. She gazes around the room for anything else but then realizes she is almost out of time. She opens desk drawers and sees pictures of family, friends, and other office supplies. In one of the drawers she finds a gun and a clip. She takes it and tucks it into her pants, slipping the clip into her pocket. She grabs the computer and shoves it into the computer bag hanging from a bathroom door. There is barely room for the folder and the computer, but she manages to squeeze it in. She bolts from the room, flinging the bag across her shoulder. She runs up the stairs, not bothering to close any doors behind her, the flashlight's light erratic due to the fact that she is running. We see her running down the hallway and through a few rooms and then into the room with the bomb. It is at 17 seconds. She successfully escapes from the house, not dropping anything like all dumbasses in movies like this. She races across the street, completely out of breath and slowing. She hears her watch beep as the last few seconds elapse. The house explodes. Big Badda Boom! She ducks and hides from debris in a nearby alley. She is breathing heavily trying to catch her breath when she sees the red sports car drive up and Iain climbs out cheering with his friends. They take a moment to watch the house burn. Iain turns and looks what seems to be directly at her as he makes his way back to the car, but she can't be seen from the shadows. Hand then quickly climb into the car and zoom away three seconds before the sirens became audible to her. Strange.

Anyway, she will return to her apartment and check her messages. She has three - two from her mother wondering where she could possibly be only days after the funeral of her brother. The third from her father saying that her mother is worried about her mental health and well being so she should call more often within the next few days and be careful on the streets of New York.

She'll toss the computer bag, gun, clip, key, and flashlight onto the bed and peel off her layers of black clothing and take a hot shower. Maybe she'll have a flashback of Iain and what her first impression was when Michael first brought him into the house. I'm not sure about that aspect yet. She would emerge from the shower and change into sweat pants and a tee shirt and climb into the bed with the computer and files, swiping the gun and clip and key aside.

blah blah blah i'm getting tired. This is where she will discover the truth. I don't know exactly. She'll probably have to guess a password to the computer, which will be something stupid like Catherine spelled backwards. His desktop will have a huge picture of Catherine smiling. She will open word processing and begin to read the one of the files saved on the computer. It is labeled "Kindred." There are other folders with names of people, but she is mainly concerned with the largest file, kindred. She opens it and begins to read. She will laugh and mention something about her brother killed because of a science fiction story that ultimately gave her chills for some reason. Perhaps it was because it was a plan that was so perfect that it could be actually plausible...but she would remember that vampires don't really exist and close the top to the computer and move to the files that were filled with pictures of men and women labeled with a name, physical description, clan name, and where they were mostly seen lingering in the city of NY. She'll fall asleep here...

Blah blah blah blah

Somewhere along the way, in the midst of her investigation, she will meet a man...and maybe there will be some romance (Julian). His profession will probably not be linked with what happened to her brother. He'll just be some random Joe Schmoe she met in the bar and wants to pursue as a potential boyfriend (ahem, subplot). We all know where this is going. No, there will not be sex involved. He might, however fall in love with her. This will not be personified through the way he looks at her. You know those kinds of looks people give each other. They'll also kiss, but it won't go as far as sex...just because. Julian will indeed be kindred and will be aware of her investigations and what she knows. He will be forced to mislead her, but through the aid of her psychic friend, (Cybil) she will find a way to uncover certain things. Of course, the kindred will discover her friend is helping her and they (notice it's not HE) will eliminate her along with some other close random friends (Sarah) and mom and dad. Doubtful he's the one eliminating them. He might report back to other kindred who do the dirty work, but...no, i don't think it's going to be him. All of her closest friends and family are dead, leaving only Julian for her to confide in, exactly what he wants for his mission, and also for selfish reasons.

I don't know if in the end she should become embraced or killed. It is one or the other. It shouldn't be a love story. I emphasize "shouldn't" because that's what everyone is expecting, right? Maybe he'll die for her. Maybe he'll be the one to kill her. Maybe that's too predictable. Maybe it's how it should be. It's predictable because it's possible for kindred to work their way into other people's lives with a reason unknown to the "victim." I don't know what should happen to her. Maybe she'll be embraced if Julian truly loves her...but that's what everyone is rooting for. It should be a simple cause and effect. She was a dumbass, so she should pay the consequences

It will be a rather dark movie, kind of like the crow. Maybe what will happen is that sunlight may not come into play only because she spends the night out seeking information and investigating since the best time to investigate the existence of vampires is during the night. It's when they will all be out and about. So by the time the sun rises, she will also be tired and will become somewhat nocturnal herself. Maybe at the beginning of the movie...before lots of this happens, we'll see her out in the daytime. Maybe she'll play the piano or something. I know that's a non-sequiter but I just heard so much music today by Chopin and Fanny Mendehlson (I can't spell). Also - we'll make Julian so much of a skeptic, not believing in anything supernatural...except for the magic of love, oh spew so sappy.

Towards the end of the middle, we'll have her confronting a cluster of kindred and she clings close to Julian and they beckon him. He will reluctantly walk over to their side, leaving her alone. It is then she'll realize what he is. Later, she'll be so upset about this that she sees why Michael did what he did. She is alone and wants to kill herself. Julian will be there and she'll tell him to stay away...maybe she'll shoot him and he'll heal! Oh boy fun. He'll admit that he's completely in love with her and that she had to get sucked into all of this. She won't buy it and he'll kiss her and I dont know if she'll give in to him, proceed to jump or kill herself or ask to be embraced, the ending is such a blur.

The key to this movie it to show the viewers that it is possible to have societies living within societies and how they co-exist. The vampires are not the enemies in the movie. They are merely still trying to keep their existence a secret while they go about their lives that involve trying to fit in with the rest of humanity...with a few exceptions. It'll make everyone watching it walk out and say "huh..." and keep an eye out for a few days and make people think...hopefully.

But what about Catherine? That's how this entire thing started, isn't it? I have no fucking idea! I think should probably make something really stupid happen...maybe she was embraced and Dana will encounter her towards the ending of the movie...maybe she was all ready kindred and the relationship just couldn't exist. We also need some sort of a way for all of this to somehow have been discovered by Michael. Maybe her family wasn't really her family. Maybe he went to talk to her parents and she had made up the names, created an identity only to be seen by humanity, rather than what she really was. I don't know.

Here's a question: In all those dark movies, lots of people have guns. In a vampire society where they can heal, what's the point of having guns? Why not carry something more dangerous with you..unless you're a vampire and you're hoping to ward off other people than other vampires. The logic doesn't really work out, but then again, people think it's really cool when lots of people have guns...etc.

In the end, we'll also realize somehow that Michael was not murdered. After discovering all of the strange things he did, he realized too late that they're everywhere - every walk of life and that he was screwed. They knew he knew and were going to have to do something about it. He therefore locked his door, took his key, and shot a hole through the key against a wall and then shot a hole through his head as to not have to be discovered and killed by them...all of his work would be burned and no trace of his investigation would ever exist.

Physical Weaknesses for vampires:

Physical Advantages for vampires:

Fire
Sunlight
Decapitation
Stakes?? I'm not so sure.

Regeneration and rapid healing
Disciplines (special "capabilities") original to each vampire...or clan. (If I even decide to get into clans.)

Etc...lalala
