VFS-805 "Airborne SWAT Team"
VFS-805 "Airborne SWAT Team" is a unique Virtual Fighter
Squadron in the fact that we can, and
do fly any plane, will take on almost
any mission, at almost any time, and anywhere. That's how we
got our motto,
"Any Time, Anywhere, Any Plane, Any Mission."
VFS-805 started off as USMC.O (United States Marine Corps Organization).
USMC.O was a "club" for
people who wanted to help keep Plymouth Regional
High School safe. It wasn't havin' much luck because
PRHS was a pretty safe
school at the time. It was then that I started to get interested in flight sim
games for the computer. There was a bunch of us who had the same game, and
each of us created our
missions for our games. It was then that I got
together with my flight sim buddies, and we decided
to rename USMC.O to
VFS-805 "Airborne SWAT Team". VFS-805 was founded on 08 August, 1998. That's
where the 805 comes from.
The reason I chose "Airborne SWAT Team" as the name, was my buddies and I all
had the same
program that allowed you to fly whatever plane you wanted on
any mission, and also allowed you to
change the stats on any plane that you
wanted. So, we decided that because we could fly a huge
arsenal of aircraft,
we basically qualified as an "Airborne SWAT Team". Basically, you name it we fly
it.
