Lighting the Way: Chapter One


"Ryouga-sama?" Akari called, putting a hand to her cheek as she walked down the streets of Nerima. "Ryouga-sama?" she called again. Her hair blew a bit in the wind and her dress ruffled. She shivered a little as the sun was setting and a cold wind was rolling in. She began to worry. "Ryouga-sama?!" she called once more, cupping her hands to her mouth.
She was sure this was where he lived, this town at least. Actually…she wasn’t so certain, but they’d met here when Ryouga had defeated her- "Oh, Ryouga-sama?!" she cried again, as a few tears sprung to her eyes. "Ryouga-sama…" she whispered. "I need you…" she murmured, sinking down onto the sidewalk, wrapping her hands about her knees, and bowing her head. The wind rustled through her hair and she4 shivered and whispered. "Ryouga-sama…" then closed her eyes, in defeat.
"Where am I now?!" a voice called out, confused and seemingly angry. Akari’s head snapped up, her eyes wide and watery.
"Ryouga-sama!" she cried, overjoyed, spotting his silhouette against the setting sun. She launched off the pavement and ran towards him, trembling and wrapping him in a firm, frightened hug. "Oh, thank you! I was so scared I wouldn’t find you!" she softly said, pressing close to him. He was stiff a moment, confused, and then gently patted her back and lightly stroked her hair, comfortingly.
"Shhh, its okay." He said, reassuringly.
