Japanese Garden - Melbourne Zoo
The Japanese garden was built to mark the tenth anniversary in 1990 of the sister-state relationship between the State of Victoria and the Aichi Prefecture in Japan. This garden and an Australian garden in Nagoya, the capital of Aichi, were created to symbolise the strong friendship between the two states and to reflect the natural beauty of their respective landscapes. Created as a joint project of the Victorian Government and the Zoological Board of Victoria.

Golden Dragon Museum - Bendigo
Chinese heritage is an integral part of Bendigo. From the goldrush to the present day, the Bendigo Chinese community has influenced the proud history of Bendigo - from its tradition of charitable works for local hospitals to its spectacular displays in the Bendigo Easter Fair. Born of the long association with the people of the region, the Bendigo Chinese Association is proud to present the GOLDEN DRAGON MUSEUM - a living history of the Chinese people of Bendigo from the goldrush of the 1850's to present day. Having become the hub of chinese cultural activity in Australia, the museum allows visitors to experience first hand, Chinese arts and crafts with visiting artisians and tradespeople.
NOTE - A few poor examples of Bonsai are on display in the Garden of Joy that is part of the museum complex, and is not worth visiting if you have come just to see these.
Located at 5-9 Bridge Street, Bendigo. Tel: (03) 5441 5044
