Behind Himawari
「ヒマワリ」の由来について

So why did I choose this name for my homepage?
Well, I happen to love sunflowers. ヒマワリ himawari is the Japanese word for "sunflower". It also happens to be the name of Crayon Shinchan's baby sister, the name of the Japanese weather satellite as well as the name of one of the biggest ferris wheels in the world (^_^)
Aside from the fact that I adore these yellow blossoms, I recall a metaphor used by our pastor in his message where he said that Christians should be like flowers for God. When we look at flowers, especially sunflowers in full bloom, they seem to reflect the brightness of the sun.
As Christians, we should like these sunny blossoms, be a spiritual mirror image of God.
If you think about it, the word sun sounds just like "son", which in turn reminds me of the Son of God,Jesus Christ. I realized it put a different spin to the word "sunflower" and I decided to use it as the name of my homepage, simply taking its Japanese form.
