"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I'M PREGNANT?" Kiyone screamed.

Tenchi twitched on the floor. Aeka and Ryouko seemed uncertain
whether to comfort him or glare at Kiyone.

Mihoshi clapped her hands. "Oh, my, you don't know what that
means? It means you're going to have a baby, Kiyone!"

"I KNOW that, bubblehead," Kiyone got out between gritted teeth.
Turning to Washuu, she continued. "But HOW? Given the risks,
I've been taking my pills every day since the engagement!"

"We... we only did it the one time..." muttered Tenchi from the
floor. "What are the odds?"

Washuu answered Tenchi as she waved a small wand over Kiyone's
body and started typing into her holographic laptop. "Well,
Tenchi-dono, the odds were actually quite good, given that it's
Kiyone. I guess you weren't paying attention to that part of my
lecture. Unlike Earth or Juraian females, females from Kiyone's
planet are permanently fertile. This is why her planet's culture
is so career-oriented; it's an attempt to keep the birth rate
down. Kiyone has a roughly eighty percent chance of pregnancy
from any act of unprotected sex, at any time."

Kiyone sat down on the sofa, head in her hands.

Washuu remarked, "No trace of any birth control measures in your
system. Do you have a sample of these pills handy?"

Silently Kiyone produced a small bottle and handed it over to
Washuu.

"Oopsie..." Mihoshi murmured, her gaze fixed on the bottle.

After analyzing the contents, Washuu smirked. "I'll give you one
guess, Kiyone. The pills in your bottle are not what they're
supposed to be. Also, the chemical formula for the residue on the
sides of the bottle happens to be a nearly irresistable sweet to
people from one particular planet."

Kiyone turned to glare at Mihoshi. Aeka started giggling; Ryouko
cackled outright.

Mihoshi started bawling. "Oh, Kiyone, I didn't mean to eat them,
but the smell was just driving me crazy! They're just SOOO
delicious! I just couldn't help myself!"

"GRRRR!" Trying to calm herself, Kiyone turned back to Washuu and
unclenched her jaw enough to say, "And next time?"

Washuu was still typing. "You understand, preventing conception
in your people isn't easy, Kiyone. So far, every possible
chemical combination which might work is equally irresistable to
the bubblehead. Looks like you're going to have a lot of
children."

"Do the pills at least prevent HER from reproducing?" asked Kiyone
between clenched jaws.

"Nope. Actually, in Mihoshi they'll act as a mild stimulant to
her fertility."

Washuu turned to Tenchi and grinned. "You're going to be QUITE a
father, Tenchi-dono. Maybe they'll call you 'Father of His
Galaxy' a few thousand years from now."

"Oh, wonderful," Tenchi moaned.

Outside in the yard, a hovering Washuu-bot returned various
colored gems on the ground to their normal appearance. Many
young ladies, disgruntled, immediately beamed out to parts
unknown.

Shiria, Pikko, Teruzi, and Menori contemplated Prince Youshou,
unconscious, lying on the ground covered in sticky green stuff.

"Ughh! He's been slimed. I don't want to touch him!"

Pikko and Shiria analyzed the green slime with the instruments
in their bracelets.

"It's water-soluble; we just have to dump him in the lake,"
Pikko announced.

Nobody moved.

"ONE of us has to pick him up, you know."

"Let's all do it, on count of three."

"WAIT! I don't want to get that gook on my clothes!"

"Then take them off," said Shiria calmly, arms crossed.

"Let's ALL take them off," said Teruzi. "And then Youshou's,
as soon as the slime has dissolved."

The suggestion met with universal approval.

Youshou started to grow nervous.

Back in the living room, a green bubble of light appeared. It
burst, leaving two short, slim figures. The older of the two had
wild, light orange hair; the younger hovered upside down in
mid-air, then started slowly revolving, head over heels.

"Yume! What are you doing here?" asked Ryouko.

"Washuu-sama! What is this person doing here? She nearly
caused a crisis of galactic proportions!" added Aeka.

Yume, the second most brilliant scientist in the universe, spun
one finger in the air. "I was about to explain that..."

"Good," interrupted Washuu, "because this time, I didn't invite
you."

"...I have recently been appointed as a technical advisor to
the Juraian armed forces, as it happens," explained Yume,
"and as payment, my daughter here has been engaged to the
young prince you're all so interested in." Yume gestured
towards Tenchi, still lying on the floor in shock. Tenchi
revived enough to direct warding-off gestures at Yume.

The daughter in question, a spiky-red-haired, rubber-limbed urchin
wearing a loose t-shirt and stretch shorts, crouched and examined
Tenchi closely, almost nose-to-nose.

"Ooo-OOOO-oooh. A Prince."

"Hi! My name is Sasami! What's yours?" Sasami smiled and bowed.

The newcomer capered around Sasami on all fours, peering closely
at her from odd angles. "Ooo-OOOO-oooh. The avatar of Tsunami."

"I wonder if this is what Washuu was like at that age," said Aeka,
laughing in a lady-like fashion with a hand to her mouth. Ryouko
guffawed.

Tenchi stood and glared at Yume. "You can't just beam in here
and give me another fiancee like this!"

"Why not?" replied Yume coolly. "Everyone else does."

Ryou-oh-ki scampered in and leaped to Sasami's shoulder. The
new girl blinked. "OooooOOOOOH! Furry spaceship!" She then
produced a two-handed, computerized aircraft steering device from
somewhere. Ryou-oh-ki squealed in dismay when she found herself
levitating off Sasami's shoulder, then zooming about the room in
circles, accompanied by sound effects generated by the new
red-haired waif as she steered. "Vrrrrr-OOOOOOMM!
Bah-bah-bah-bah vrrrooOOOOOOOOM!"

"Hmmm. I didn't think it was possible to hack into Ryou-oh-ki so
quickly." Washuu stared at the girl dubiously. "And I don't
think I was ever quite like THAT."

"No! My little Ryou-chan! Stop doing that to her!" cried Sasami,
without visible effect on the newcomer's actions.

"What do you mean, everyone else?" Tenchi asked Yume worriedly.

"Just a premonition," replied Yume.

"TENCHI, I WISH TO SPEAK WITH YOU AGAIN," came a not-quite-voice
from all directions and none.

Tenchi accordingly folded over on himself, imploded, and vanished.

"Tenchi!" "Tenchi-sama!" "Tenchi-niichan!" came a chorus of
worried voices.

Washuu, sweating, pretended to analyze this event. Unfortunately
for her...

"I'VE GOT IT!" Yume announced. "Prince Tenchi has been taken
by a higher-dimensional lifeform! And I've narrowed his
destination to just a few possible places! Quick, everyone!
We'll give chase!"

"Uh-oh," Washuu muttered, alarmed.

Aeka, Ryouko, Sasami, and Mihoshi quickly placed themselves close
to Yume. Kiyone, with a grimace, patted her abdomen and stepped
away. Sasami saw Misao walk in the door and gestured to her to
join the rescue party.

"I think you're all being a bit hasty here..." Washuu got out
before the whole group vanished.

"Oh, excrement."

Outside, the young-looking Youshou vainly tried to escape the
attentions of the remaining young ladies. Hikaru, Fuu, and Umi
jumped into the lake and helped remove green goop-covered
clothing.

From the shore, Asuka and Rei looked on. "Prince Youshou looks
like a REAL man," Asuka sighed. "Not one of these boring boys.
What do you think, Wonder Girl?"

"If I am ordered to marry him, I will do it." After a pause, Rei
gave a tentative smile. "I hope I am."

- - - - - - - - - -
"Don't stray from me, any of you; my force-field is the only thing
keeping you alive in this place."

In another dimensional reality, Yume and the girls looked around.
Up and down seemed somewhat arbitrary here. They strained to
focus their eyes on a nearby four-dimensional castle sitting atop
a peak. Aeka and Ryouko glanced at each other, taken aback
briefly by their appearances as three-dimensional surfaces in a
four-dimensional space.

Aeka politely put a hand to her mouth and laughed. "Well, Ryouko-
san, I always knew your attraction was purely superficial."

Ryouko smirked as she replied, "And this place gives new meaning to
the phrase 'flat-chested Princess', doesn't it?"

Yume looked at the device in her hand. "Nope, wrong location.
Well, we'll just go on..."

"Hold, intruders!" cried a young male voice.

A purple-haired young woman, a younger but obviously related male,
and a still younger girl appeared from nowhere, hovering before
the Tenchi Rescue Squad, all obviously natives of this place from
their very solidity.

"I am Ramia. I rule this place. By what right do you intrude
here, Tsunami?" The newcomer pointed at Sasami imperiously.

Yume, Aeka, Ryouko, Mihoshi, and Misao glanced at Sasami, then all
except Yume did a double-take. Unlike the others, Sasami's
earthly self now appeared as but one surface of a four-dimensional
entity. Misao squealed in fright, drawing the attention of the
native young man.

"Sasami! Are you all right? From one side you look like a tree,
from another as Tsunami..." Aeka drawled to a halt.

The Tsunami surface responded. While its lips moved, the
lips on the Sasami and Pretty Sammy surfaces didn't move at all.
"Aeka-hime, you need not worry about your little sister. She is
less likely to come to harm in this place than are you."

Turning to Ramia, Tsunami continued, "Ramia, it is not by my own
will that I intrude, and I will not infringe your prerogatives
while I am here."

"You had better not! In case you've forgotten, your Agency and
mine are rivals." Ramia rubbed her hands together in glee. "And
you are already in violation of Regulation IV-42-GSXY-39
subparagraph A. Accordingly, I am now permitted to assign my
brother and sister to intrude on the affairs of you and your
sisters' Agency. Rumia, Alielle: follow them!"

Rumia, with an eye on Misao, nodded approval. Alielle, glancing
back and forth between Aeka, Ryouko, and Mihoshi, squealed in joy.

Back on earth, Washuu sat down, hard, and groaned. "Oh, double-
damn. Fecal matter. Reproductive activities. Tokimi isn't
going to like this..."

- - - - - - - - - -
Yume and her tag-alongs blinked out of one place and reappeared
in another. Again, most of them appeared as mere surfaces, and
had even more trouble interpreting what they saw. They appeared
to be in a long hallway, facing Tokimi and an inadequately-clothed
Tenchi.

"...when I get my hands on you..." they were just in time to
hear Tokimi say, looking back over her shoulder.

Aeka and Ryouko focused on the sight of Tenchi, manifesting three
Light-Hawk Wings. Turning back to Tenchi, Tokimi examined them
carefully.

"Hey, what are you all doing down there so small?" Sasami's voice
echoed through the vast, indefinitely-bounded hall.

"Interesting," Yume noted.

Mihoshi started, smiled, and clapped in delight. "Sasami! How
did you get so big? And why are you standing behind Kotimi...
Motiki... whatever her name is?"

Aeka and Ryouko glanced around quickly. Sure enough, while
Mihoshi, Yume, and Misao (not to mention Rumia and Alielle) were
still with them, Sasami was present only at the other end of the
hallway, behind Tokimi, animating one of a pair of still
outlines.

"Do you mind, pipsqueak?" snarled Ryouko, removing one of
Alielle's hands from her person.

"Oh, not at all," replied Alielle with a sultry smile.

Yume smirked and pointed. "Well, well, well... looks like
another of Washuu's secrets falls to my genius..."

Aeka and Ryouko glanced at her, then back at Tokimi, then the two
simultaneously gasped as they recognized one of the other outlines
behind Tokimi.

"And isn't THIS a little on the phallic side?" asked Yume
rhetorically, gesturing at a nearby statue of Tenchi manifesting
five Light-Hawk Wings. Upon closer inspection, Aeka and Ryouko
noticed that three of the Wings thrust boldly upwards, while the
other two, sticking out more to the sides, formed more of a
underpinning.

Yume continued to smirk. "And now I wonder just HOW higher-
dimensional immortal female entities ever manage to become
pregnant? Should they really be called Light-Hawk 'Wings'?"

Tenchi turned towards the group, sudden alarm in his eyes.

Tokimi tapped one foot and turned, glaring, to face the outline of
Washuu.

...which suddenly animated itself, turned to the group, smiled
sheepishly, and shrugged. "Okay, okay, so now you know. Sue me."

Tokimi turned back to Tenchi and gave her verdict. "Thank you
for attending me, my husband-to-be. You are developing nicely."

Later, back on Earth, Rumia gingerly approached the shy Misao and
tried to start up a conversation, digging one of his toes into the
ground. Misao stood, holding her hands together in front of
herself and shooting glances at Rumia's face.

Alielle scampered back and forth from Mihoshi to Aeka to Ryouko
to Kiyone.

Sasami chased after Yume's daughter Ed, trying to get her to
stop flying Ryou-oh-ki in circles. Ryou-oh-ki herself continued
to 'myeow' in alarm.

"Well, Tenchi," said Kiyone, approaching him and taking one arm,
"JNN says you're officially down to ten fiancees now: the six
of us, plus Tokimi, Yuzuha, Misao, and the new child. Everybody
else either fled or attached themselves to Youshou."

"About time Grandpa had to deal with some of this," Tenchi
replied.

"I agree," added Aeka. "Brother Youshou should carry his share
of the burden."

Ryouko leaned one elbow on Aeka's shoulder and smirked. "And, of
course, the reduction in competition for Tenchi is merely
incidental."

"OOOHH!" Alielle squealed again. "You two are like that, are
you?"

Aeka and Ryouko immediately backed away from each other,
red-faced and waving, and spluttered indignant denials.

"I'm sure going to like it here!" Alielle announced cheerily,
then turned to Tenchi and impishly added, "So make it eleven!"

THE END (for now).
