It was a beautiful day in the small town of Nerima. A figure unseen by the human eye was enjoying this lovely morning as she flew through the sky. Her name was F-sensei and she worked for Fate. For five years she had looked out for a small black hair boy with light brown eyes. He was her ward. In all this time, she never once was disappointed in Ranma-chan. He was growing at a fast pace and was quite bright and a fast learner. His accomplishments in the arts was staggering. At the age of five and one half years, he was a master of Kempo. Though he did not the power or size to defeat some of his father's and his father's friends students, his form far exceed those who had reached first and second Dan. Had either his father or possible father-in-law ever checked the boy's ki aura they would have been surprised to see that his aura nearly matched their own. Yet where both Genma's and Soun's aura was deep red, Ranma on the other hand had a mix of gold and blue.

The white aura, F-sensei had once sensed so brightly in Ranma, had faded by his first year on Earth. As she experienced more of her surrounding, she found that although most martial artists saw a warrior's aura as a connection to his/her possible powers and fighting abilities. They never truly paid attention to what the aura really meant. They did not understand that the aura was a reflection of the person's intentions, thoughts and more importantly soul.

F-sensei saw a fighting spirit in Genma, Soun and Akane. A soul belonging to a true warrior. With Akane, Nabiki, Kasumi, Kimiko and Nodoka, F-sensei also saw a bright blue aura. A blue aura meant protectiveness, innocence and love. All loving mothers had it which would explain Kimiko and Nodoka and all children who are innocent will show a certain degree of this aura. What surprised her was Ranma's gold and white auras. Gold meaning extreme confidence and an understanding of the arts. White was perhaps the rarest aura a mortal could ever dream of attaining. It meant serenity, harmony with oneself and with their surroundings, love for those around him, hope of the future, and confidence and faith in ones ability and those they call friends. To have even a sliver of a white aura meant the greatest achievement a mortal can reach.

F-sensei was surprised that Ranma had achieved it at such an early age was an understatement. She was also surprised that Kimiko had it also. For years F-sensei knew of Kimiko's fate and yet there something that told F-sensei that Kimiko knew as well. With knowledge of her fate, Kimiko started to live each day to its fullest. Somewhere along the way she discovered and was able to tap the power within herself to continue living and was rewarded with the shimmering of a white aura.

Saotome Residence

As the first set of morning rays casted its blinding light across the horizon, the sound of fighting could be heard in a part of Nerima Ward, Tokyo. There is a young child, who seems to be fighting an older and taller man, ten times his size. This unfair fight was a technique the older man was using to teach his son a legacy he hoped Ranma would one day carry on and pass to his son. "You can do better than that son, " shouted Genma.

Watching Ranma in action was inspirational. Each time he attacked and failed, he would get right back up and attack again. Each time, Ranma would do something a little different. Sometimes moving his foot an inch further than before or punch a little faster of slower. Never did he used a failed technique twice. *Ranma has great potiental though he lacks the experience and power to defeat someone my size,* Genma thought proudly. *I think it is time I took Ranma on a training trip. I still remember a time long ago when Soun and I were training together under Hap.p....the Master. Those were hard times < Images of riots consisting of angry women chasing them with brooms suddenly filled his head > but a martial artist must perservere against all odds. He must stand up to whatever Mother Nature conjure up.* mentally to himself.

While Genma was daydreaming, Ranma saw an opening and used it to land a solid side kick into his father's midsection. Though it did not hurt Genma much, the fact that Ranma could even touch him was a sign from Kami that Ranma true training should begin and a smile spread across his face. He was proud of his son. Ranma was like a sponge. He sucked up martial arts as well as school work faster then some people could teach him. Though Genma thought a formal education was not as important as the arts, Nodoka thought differently. Genma did not want to argue with his wife when Ranma was involved. Last time he did was when he and Soun made the agreement about Ranma and one of Tendo's daughter engagement together and afterward he had to go on a diet for one week because of it. A plan came to Genma as he thought of his early training, traveling Soun and Hap... the Master. He would take Ranma across Japan and China. He would train him in all the old famous training grounds of Japan and China. All he had to do was was convince Nodoka of his idea.

"Ranma!! How would you like to go on a training trip?" Genma asked Ranma.

At this Ranma looked up from his defensive stance. "That would be fun Otousan!!" Ranma answered.

"Okay Ranma wait here, I need to get something." With that Genma entered the house and later came out with a piece of paper and an ink pad. "Ranma !! How would you like to finger paint?" Genma asked Ranma?

"Can I really Otousan? Okaasan really never let me play with paint."

"Yes you may Ranma, go right ahead." With this Genma smiled. Ranma seeing his father smile made some of his fears of Okaasan punishing him seem all right. Later that day Genma was jumping up and down with joy as he held a piece of paper with Ranma's handprints all over it.

Later that Day

"What!! I will not accept this Genma," an enraged Nodoka yelled at her husband. "You will not take Ranma away from me. I am his Okaasan and no one comes between a mother and her child. Where is my katana? I swear Genma if you even try, I'll start shaving your body until there is not a single piece of hair left on it." Nodoka finally found her katana and was now stalking him with it.

"Dear please be reasonable. For Ranma to take over the Musabetsu Kakutou Ryu he needs to become one of the best martial artist around. He needs to be challenged. Can't you see that already dear. Everytime Ranma had failed in the past or lost a fight, he would learn and come back stronger. Here at home with your loving care, he'll grow soft and will not be man enough when the time comes to face his true destiny. Don't you understand Nodoka dear this is for Ranma's sake as well as the Saotome clan." Genma could see the resolve in Nodoka's eye falter just a bit and knew he was getting to her. He had to act now or he might never get another chance. "I swear to you dear if I don't make Ranma a man amoung men, then Ranma and I shall commit seppuku to save face."

"No, I will not allow that. I will not allow you to kill Ranma. I'll kill you first dear." She raised her katana high in the air, "You will not take Ranma away from me." There were tears now rolling down her face. The once proud expression on Nodoka's face was now replaced with one of rage.

"I'm sorry dear, but Ranma and myself have already signed an agreement." Genma told Nodoka softly. He was now holding a roll of parchment for her to see.

As Nodoka read the parchment, her eyes widened and she fell to her knees. "Why Genma, why did you do this." Nodoka cried. "I thought you loved me. Now you're taking Ranma away from me. You even ask me to kill him if you failed. Tell me why." She was now on the ground crying into the palms of her hands. The katana was now lying next to her all but forgotten. She did not want to lose Ranma nor Genma. What did she do to deserve this?

Looking down at Nodoka, Genma's resolve was crumpling. He loved her very much and to see her like this was pure torture to him. A fate worse than the diet she put him on. "For Ranma's sake as well as for honor." Genma replied. He was now hugging Nodoka as she cried herself to sleep. The last word Genma could hear as she drifted off to sleep was "Genma no Baka."

F-sensei was furious. She knew Ranma had to go on a training trip to fullfil his destiny but the way the bastard broke it to Nodoka was inexcusable. Energy started to surround her. The aura that surrounded her was bright red. The nerve of even thinking of committing Ranma to seppuku if he could not teach him how to be a man. The aura around her flared even brighter. The amount of energy surround her cause her clothes to ripple around her in an upward motion and her long golden hair was also caught in the updraft. * Genma if you were not Ranma's father and if you did not play an important role in the future I would kill you now. * F-sensei thought to herself. F-sensei started to collect energy in her right hand. The intensity and the power that flowed through her was frightening. What was more frightening was this was less than a percenage of her total power. * Argggg!!!! * F-sensei mentally shouted and unleased the energy she collected in her hand up into the sky.

Genma looking at the night sky thought he saw a shooting star and made a wish and also prayed to Kami-sama to give him the power to do what was right.

To be continued :

After writing this, I thought I'll just make it a chapter. This was one of my better works and felt it could stand on its own. Hope you all enjoy this and hopefully the next chapter will be out in a few weeks to two months max. I am taking a break after writing this and the other two series I am tired. I will now sit back and read other people's work. All C&C are welcomed.

The voting is going well and have generated much interesting in this series and its continuation. Someone e-mailed me asking if the voting will impact the story any, and my answer is yes. It will greatly impact the middle and end of this series.

Special thanks to Thomas Wu and Jason Liao for helping proof read this story. If anyone sees an error in any of my stories please e-mail me.

I hereby present Lord Archive with the gold medalion for his guess into the meaning of the auras surround Ranma and company. Yatta!!!
