Look in to Pikachu's eyes!

Having a seizure yet? I didn't think so

On December 16th, 1997, more than 700 people from all over Japan were sent to the hospital after suffering seizures. The culprit was this cute little guy, Pikachu, star of Pocket Monsters (Pockemon), that you see above. Here's a clip from the offending show. And here's a nifty picture of someone dressed as Pikachu at the Tomy toy show in Japan.

UPDATE!

Pocket Monster is coming to American Television in September. Of course, the American press is making bad news of it, trying to scare us again with threats of seizures. No, the infamous episode won't be shown on our screens. Read some of the silly articles by ABC news here.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon

Save Our Sailors!!

OK so what if the American version of Sailor Moon was cheesy? It's like pizza. Bad is better than nothing. I am personally obsessed with Sailor Moon, I have Eternal Sailor Moon tattooed on my left shoulder (look back here for a picture) and I have a rather lovely collection of Sailor Moon stuff, from dolls to beef stew. PLEASE help the efforts to save our Sailors in the US. Sailor Moon will be returning to American television in June, but it will be syndicated so you'll have to check local TV listings. The goal now is to get the rest of the series and the 3 movies over here. Please join the efforts at the Save our Sailors headquarters!

UPDATE!

Sailor Moon is BACK. As of June 1, 1998. The Cartoon Network has made it a part of their Toonami lineup! We get Sailor Moon, Robotech and Voltron. Bliss! Rumour has it that we'll be getting 17 more episodes that weren't part of the original US release (they're part of the "R" series in Japan). Visit the Cartoon Network's website, and send them email thanking them profusely for bringing back our Sailor Team.

Why not take a quiz? Which scout are you?
