This month's (or few month's...) character design has been one that I have always thought would be really cool to have. Although this may sound a lot like Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat, I think that I have made the restrictions on this person quite decent and probably more fun to play. ^ _ ^  This character should be represented as a secret character that can only be used when a certain code is used within the game (for example, codes like Evil Ryu in SFA2, etc. etc.) The way that I have designed this character will please any Street Fighter Veteran, but will probably annoy beginners or ameteurs. But that's o.k. This character is only worthy to be played by the best anyway, as you have to understand every character since at least SSFIIT. (Super Street Fighter II Turbo). But I would reccomend that the person playing had played them all since the original World Warriors.

As for a name, I have given "him" if you want to call it that Shadochi. This character resembles every character's chi that has ever been a part of the SF coin ops. Hence why it looks like "Shadow-chi", but it needs to be pronounced differently so that it will confuse and mask what it is supposed to actually be to the beginners. But we veterans will all understand. ^ _ ^

As for the story line, Shadochi is a spiritual life form that was generated from everyone's chi in the SF series. But due to Akuma's fanatic obsession to obtain everyone's chi, it began to grow more life-like, and has now developed into a spiritual "organism". To some, Shadochi is just a way to test your true potential, as seen in SF Victory episodes 11&12 (The "Beast" in Ryu and Ken's minds...) To others, it may just be simply ignored or not noticed (maybe Guile, Charlie, Balrog [the boxer...]???) But nevertheless, Shadochi exists, and now seeks Akuma out to rid "itself" of this torment, and for self-preservation.

As for the actual battle, Shadochi will continue to fight as any other Street Fighter player with only one exception. You must change into the person that you are fighting in order to finally defeat him, and it must be done with a super, or perform the level 3 super "Heaven Help You" and actually connect it. Otherwise, all damage to your opponent after that "hairline" amount that you need to survive will do absolutely NO DAMAGE. This is why to the beginers Shadochi will be so frustrating! You continue to beat your opponent down into a pulp switching back to various characters having fun, and then you notice that as you only need to hit your opponent with a futile weak punch/kick, or even just simply block a special move, it does no damage! And it will continue to do no damage until you fulfill the requirements of finally defeating him. Or you let the time run out. So, be on your guard if you need to change into the final person! And make sure that you don't miss with that super! It's a great challenge for the real pro's.

Here is Shadochi's special moves and Supers that I have come up with:

In it's True Form's Special moves:

Irridescence: (done as a Hadoken). A horizontal wave of pure light (almost like Ryu's Shinku Hadoken from SF vs. X-men, only a lot thinner and pure white) that is jolted out of its palms. Travels fast and hits once. Recovery as fast as Ryu or Ken.

Angellic Descent: (done as a Hurricane Kick). Shadochi will jump off of the wall much like Rolento or Vega, and when you hit a punch button, you will strike (weak punch) straight downward, (medium) straight forward to other side of the screen (almost like Vega's arial claw strike), or (fierce) diagonally forward and down (like Akuma's midair dive kick, but only hits once). Very fast, but easy to block. Nice to catch opponents off guard with however.

Angellic Ascent: (done as a Hurricane Kick, but a punch instead). Very simillar to above, only instead of jumping off the wall, Shadochi will begin to run (much like Guy does when performing a Bushido Run). Then when you hit a kick button, you will (short=jump kick like Cammy's thrust kick, but perfectly straight upward like Ken's Shinryuken), (forward=sliding sweep kick like Guy's forward Bushido Run), or (Round=upward angled kick like Gen's Mantis kick, only that the stopping point would be a lot higher and maybe angled more).

Teleport: (done as normal). Screen will blink a little brighter (as if a lightning bolt were to go off) when Shadochi teleports.

Rushing Focus: (done as a Hadoken motion and a kick). A throw move that has Shadochi dash at the opponent quickly (unlike Zangief!) (weak-short distance ~ fierce kick-long distance), and if caught, Shadochi will then jump up in the air with them and throw them at a downward angle (much like if Rose were to catch someone in the air with a soul throw).

SUPERS:

Holy Fire: (done as half rotation away to towards and punches). 3-5 "light spots" will be projected all at once, and each will explode at intervals from closest to Shadochi to the farthest away and will continue to propel the opponent onward, much like Rolento's Grenade Super, only that Holy Fire will hit 4 times for each explosion. Damage is fairly moderate.

Angellic Warfare: (Done as half rotation towards to away and kicks). Done similar to Cammy's Smart Bomb super from SF vs. X-men. If this move lands and is not blocked, about a dozen of Shadochi's shadows (like the ones seen in custom combos from SFA2) will continue to pounce the opponent in different directions as an air juggle.

Dissipation: (done as a half rotation towards to away and punches). A great light flashes, and suddenly all of the light is gone from the screen. You now fight in the dark for approximately 5-15 seconds (real seconds, not the clock timer's seconds), and all other supers will not be able to be performed until the light comes back on. (This should be fun for those of you who can play the game blindfolded like I can. Think of the guy's face next to you playing when you do this! Have a camera handy).

Heaven Help You: (Done as a Raging Demon, level 3 only). Shadochi will slowly chase the opponent in the same manner as Akuma does, and when caught, Shadochi will then transform into all possible Street Fighter characters ever made and do one special move with every one of them done extremely fast (like you were watching the VCR on play and forward advance, a lot like Spiral does her Metamorphosis Super on Children of the Atom).

Transformations (all at Level 1): These are designed to be pretty easy. Just hold down the button (or combination of buttons) for two seconds, and let go. You will use up one level of chi, and will transform into a shadowlike replica of whoever it matches. I tried to balance it out by having the characters that few people ever play have the easiest buttons, and the ones that everyone seems to play with the most (and more difficult) buttons for challenge. Maybe people will learn to use them after all! To change back, push the same button/sequence of buttons again (Yes, that means you have to hit start to change back if you did in the first place). And note that you have to change back into Shadochi first before you can change into someone else. Oh, and by the way, changing back does not use chi.
