"Carolina Mommy"

I don't know you,
But I'd like to get to.
If that's cool wit you.
You looking real nice in that Carolina Blue.

Physically, you thick
. In all the right places.
But what really got me feelin you...
Is our first conversation.

After that night,
I wanted to get all up in it.
Not what between your legs...
But your mind and your spirit.

See I aint just trying to hit..
But wit you I'm trying to chill.
We can become "real" friends..
And off of that we can build.

To where I'm down for you....
And I know you got my back.
You one of the realest....
Representin North Cackalack!!!!!!!!

"The Perfect Example"

I know it must have been hard.
You were only 18 years old at the time,
And faced with the huge responsibility
To bring another life into the world.

I guess you can say I was unplanned
As many of us are.
But you and I both know that God has his own masterplan
That even you and I don't understand.

But I do know that it couldn't have been more right.
I couldn't have asked for a better father.
I remember those hard times we went through,
But as I look back on it, I now realize
That it only made us and our bond stronger.

I wasn't just your first born, also your first son.
When I was learning how to be a man,
You were learning how to raise one.
You taught me about responsibility,
integrity, and self respect.

The most importand thing you did for me,
Is when you layed down the foundation of my spirituality.
You taught me who God was
Instead of just sending me to church,
To learn from someone else.

The many times that we've sat down and
talked together, prayed together,
and even cried together,
It's all made me the man that I am today.

Those are the types of things that can't be replaced,
So I will never feel like I've repaid you for it.
The closest that I can come to it,
Is to follow your example.

Now it's time for me to be as good of a father to my son,
As you were to me......

"3rd Eye Vision"

I see young people,
Who mistake ignorance for being street.
And in their ignorance,
They curse themselves within their speech.

They've expelled the kindness from their heart.
And it's been replaced by greed.
They don't want to feel emotions,
So they suppress them by smoking weed.

I see babies having babies,
And babies killing babies.
Sometimes I feel like
This whole world's gone crazy.

They mistake lusts for love
And comfuse love with sex.
And still they wonder why
They haven't found the right one yet.

Everyday our children go to school,
Only taught how to memorize.
Never encouraged to think
And explore the real power of their minds.

That's not the way it's supposed to be.
I've often asked myself why they can't see,
The things I see.
But now I know.
It's because one of their eyes was closed.

"Hip Hop Matrix"

You're the ones that messed it up.
We were doing alright until you came along.
We were hip hop. The Highest level of creativity.
You couldn't handle that though, could you?
You couldn't stand the fact that there was something so powerful,
That even you couldn't control it.

So what did you do?

First you tried to tell everyone that we were a bunch of thugs.
You said our music was garbage.
You said our works of art were vandalism.
You said that our speech was vulgar.
But where did we learn our vulgar speech,
Our explicit content?

We got it from you!

The same people who spoke so heavily against it.
What we created was a reflection of the society we live in.
It was nothing new.
We were just the first one's arrogant enough to stand up and say
"We demand to be heard!"

You got scared then, didn't you?

After you realized you couldn't get rid of us,
You did the next best thing. You joined us.
You became our record labels, our A&Rs, our bosses.
Even though we didn't see it we were being corrupted,
From the inside.

You targeted the weak minded.

You flashed your money, women and drugs in their face.
You promised them success.
All they had to do is make the music you wanted them to.
You told them to write what you wanted them to write about.
You put limitations on their creativity,
Which is what we were all about.
You took them away from being emcees,
And turned them into what you called "rappers".
You managed to diminish some of our greatest creative minds.

But you didn't stop there.

You know there would be others.
So you made sure that the "rappers" were
The ones that got all the airplay.
The "rappers" were the ones that got the big interviews
And tour dates.
You made it look as if the the "rapper" was the thing to be.

You wanted the rest of the world to forget about the emcees.
Those that really had something important to say.
You did your best to make sure that all they saw was the "rapper".
Filling up the peoples heads with meaningless babble and simplicities.

And what happened then?

Others outside of our culture started complaining,
About the vulgarity, the superficial way of thinking,
And degradation of women. And what did you do?
You blamed it all on the "rapper".
You created your own bad guy to point the finger at.
And the whole time you got paid for it.
I have to admit that you pulled the covers over a lot of peoples eyes.
You almost pulled off the perfect crime.

But you made one mistake.

There were some of them that you just couldn't get to.
Some of them who were so dedicated that they refused you.
And they refused to fall for your master plan.
And even though you managed to keep them from prosperity,
They still existed, they still created, they still represented us.
Because they did it for the love of the artform.

Se while you were busy keeping all of your "rappers"
In the spotlite, buying off their creativity,
They struggled to stay alive.
Some of them weren't fortunate enough to have descent jobs,
But they still wouldn't sell out to you.

They made tapes in their basements,
And sold them out the trunks of their cars.
Just to make sure they were heard.
Eventually they managed to build their own companies,
And start their own labels.
Now we've got our own people on the inside.
Changing what people listen to.

Sound familiar?

Well it should.
Because we're using your own plan against you.
We're gonna be the ones who set the trends.
We're gonna get things back to the way they were,
Before you came along and messed it up.
We're taking our peoples minds out of
Ignorance, lusts, and money. And putting it back on
Positivity, self reflection, and spirituality.

And this time, It's going to stay that way!

"Mother's Day Every Day"

I don't know why God chose you to bring me into the world,
But it was a good choice.
Because for all of those nine months,
I heard your voice.

You comforted and consoled me
When I cried within.
Tellin me about this world which
I was soon to live in.

I wasn't just a child you were carrying,
I was a part of you.
Whatever it is you were feeling,
I felt it too.

I laughed when you laughed,
And cried when you cried.
We both shared each others emotions
As I was growing inside.

And when that nine months was over,
And it was time to leave that place,
I immediately knew who you were,
As soon as I saw your face.

I was happy, afraid, and confused.
All at the same time. I didn't know what to do.
But I was your first born,
So this was all new to you too.

As I grew, you grew.
I guess we learned from each other.
Because you took the same lessons learned from rasing me,
And applied them to my sister and brother.

I appreciate everything you've done for me in my life.
Especially when times were tough.
Mother's Day was a good idea,
But one day just isn't enough.

It would take a lifetime to express the love
That a mother and child have for each other.
And even though I know your not perfect,
To me you were the perfect mother.

"Your Secret Admirer"

You don't really know me,
But I would like to get to know you.
As I constantly search myself for the right approach,
I openly admit to being intimidated by you.

Not really by any particular thing you do,
But it's more about the way you do it.
I've found myself captivated by you beauty.
And I don't just mean you physical appearance.

Now don't get me wrong,
You are very appealing to the eye,
But that's no comparison,
To the beauty that shines from inside.

That's what really fascinates me about you,
Every time I see you,
You always carry a friendly smile,
And as open as you seem to be to make a new friend,
I stil have that feeling within.

It holds me back from making myself known.
But even though you don't know me,
The next time you pass me by,
You'll see the feelings from these words in my eyes,
And you'll say to yourself, "It's you!"
Now I guess it's no longer a secret,
That I admire you.

"Don't Fall For It"

From the connecting point of universal souls,
This story is told.
Been on the path towards righteousness since 12 yrs old,
Even back then momma knew her little boy broke the mold,
Because I sought out the truth,
Instead of believing the lies being told.

That same way of life,
It kept me isolated from others.
But that's the way it had to be,
I refused to be another one of those ignorant brothers,

That walked right into the
That was set for us long ago,
To mentally enslave our people,
And so,

All your ignorance and belligerence,
It's just another part of the plan,
You don't know it yet,
But the devil got you in the palm of his hand.

He want's us to fuss and fight,
And kill each other
Cus if we unite and stand as one,
It makes his job much harder.

He wants us to get drunk, smoke crack,
And get weeded,
So we'll become dependent,
And submit to him when we need it.

Even though we don't see it,
Our numbers are being depleted,
So when it's time for revolution,
We'll be easily defeated.

"Be All That You Can Be"

I saw another one of those "Join the Army"
commercials on TV.
Telling me I need to join them,
to be all that I can be.
I admit the money sounds good,
But is it really worth my life and independence?
For the past 21 yrs of my life
I'm satisified with just being all that God intended.
While America srreaming, "Stop The Violence"
Ask yourself. What's the real meaning?
It's OK to kill for the government,
But your a criminal if it's for a personal reason.
And if the president feels the need
to send in troops to fight,
Then why doesn't he join in the battle.
I mean it's only right.
I'm pretty sure that if that was the case,
The U.S wouldn't be so quick to fight.
If the first lady and all his loved one's were praying
for his safety at night.
I bet then he wouldn't be so quick
To go to war with other nations.
In my opinion, A leader should lead in all aspects.
Not just as an occupation.
All of this crossed my mind,
As I watched that commercial on T.V. I might be willing to fight for my country,
If my country was willing to fight for me.

"A Better Man"

As I look around me,
I see my peers content with being ignorant
Since I've acquired knowledge of self,
I really can't get with it.
I can't be a follower anymore,
I have to be a leader
And share my knowledge with others,
I have to be a teacher.
But at the same time I'm still learning,
Still yearning,
For even more of God's wisdom
And bring along with me
some of the lost ones that missed him.
But with all knowledge comes power.
And with that power comes individuals who envy it.
But that's the nature of man,
So I guess it's expected.
But I approach you as a friend, not an enemy.
The main thing I want you to see,
Is that I don't think that I'm more of a man than you.
I just know that I'm a better man than I used to be.

"When Jesus Comes Back"
If Jesus came back today, how would you greet him?
Would you fall to his feet, or would you be afraid to meet him?
I'm sure that someone would be an unbeleiver, as a skeptic always is.
And try to make him prove he is who he says he is.
After healing the blind and raising the dead, would you still reject him?
Or would seeing him do this work of God in the flesh make it easier to accept him.
Would racism end? Would people reject sin?
Would the fussing and fighting stop?
If you knew that Jesus Christ, the son of God was just around the block?
What would happen to our governments? Would they join under the power of God?
Or would the power hungry politicians make life for our savior hard?
What will Jesus look like when he finally decides to come back?
And how would the rest of the world react if they found out he was black?
Would the same people who praise him today be just as strong in their religion?
Or would the fact that he is of African descent influence their decision?
Would humanity finally get along with each other? That really would be nice.
Will people finally get it right this time,
Or will they crucify him twice?

"Meditation"

This is my form of Meditation.
A way of dealing with the situation.
In this so called revolutionized nation.
I draw creative energy from the spiritual,
transform it into thoughts of the mental,
then express it in the form of lyrics in the physical.
Why
Because, I'm one of God's best. Trying to pass his hard test.
It's a life filled with a lot of stress.
But I gotta keep going on.
With my pen and pad I keep flowing on.
The story's too deep to talk about so I express it in the form of song.
So I write and recite what is. And predict what there will be.
And when that time comes it's heaven that I'll see.
So I'm taking this hiphop thing to a higher level.
Instead of freestyling against average MCs I'm taking on the devil.
In one of the greatest battles known to mankind.
State of mind vs. state of mind.Because in the end, only one can occupy this individual.
Money is nice to have but the only true wealth is in the spiritual.
While others tryin to get the fast money.
Living the life of a crash dummy,
I'm enjoying life.Living it at a slow pace.
Waiting for the day that God shows us all his face.
From that day on they'll be no race,
No wealth and no poverty
Just thinking about it starts a spark in me.
And I know it's coming soon because it's a part of me.
But until that time comes, I just meditate.

"God Consciousness"
It's the state of being that we're all on but don't know it.
A level of perfection that goes beyond all physical and spiritual being.
It's sight beyond sight. Flight beyond flight.
Once you recognize it, it's almost like you're a dffierrent person.
You find yourself thinking about things you never thought about. Feeling things you never felt.
And everything you thought you knew about yourself means nothing.
Because you really don't know yourself at all.
You only know what other people say about you are.
You've gotten used to defining yourself by other peoples opinions.
You never asked yourself "Who am I?"
So you never knew. But I got tired of being in the dark.
I decided long ago to find an answer to this question.
Once I opened myself to receive the truth I didn't have to look for it.
Because it found me.
And I would give you the answer. But then you wouldn't get to experience it for yourself.
