Welcome!

06/28/03: Wow a month passed by real fast. I was busy the past few weeks with a house move so I didn't do anything much online except check my mail. I did manage to score a lot of NES titles between work. The Game Stops had a 2 for 1 sale running so I grabbed up a LOT of titles. I visited around 15 different stores in a 50 mile radius and here's what I came up with.

10 Yard Fight, 8 Eyes, Adventures of Bayou Billy, Adventures of Dino Riki, Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Alien Syndrome, Bad Dudes, Baseball, Bases Loaded 3, Battle Tank, Bee 52, Big Nose the Caveman, Castlevania 2, Championship Bowling, Codename Viper, Darkwing Duck, Death Race, Defender 2, Defender of the Crown, Destination Earthstar, Dirty Harry, Dragon Spirit, Dragon Warrior II, Dragon Warrior III, Excitebike (has adaptor), F15 City War, Faxanadu, Fire Hawk, Gun Nac, Gyromite (has adaptor), Gyruss, Hogan's Alley (has adaptor), Ice Hockey, Immortal, Impossible Mission 2 (American version with box and manual), Impossible Mission 2 (SEI version), Kick Master, Kings of the Beach, Kung Fu Heroes, Legacy of the Wizard, Legend of Zelda (gray version), Little Ninja Brothers, Lode Runner, Low G Man, Mach Rider, Magic of Scheherazade, Metroid (original label), Micro Machines, Mig 29, Monster Party, Ninja Kid, Pac-Man (Namco version factory sealed), Pinball, Platoon, Quantum Fighter, Quattro Adventure, Quattro Sports, Rad Racer 2, Rescue Embassy Mission, Robin Hood, Robocop, Rocket Ranger, Shockwave, Snake Rattle and Roll, Solomon's Key, Spelunker, Stinger, Sword Master, Tiger Heli, Times of Lore, Top Gun, Top Gun 2, Trick Shooting, Untouchables, Urban Champion, Wally Bear and the No! Gang (opened but has most of the shrinkwrap intact), Wayne Gretsky Hockey, Win Lose or Draw, Wurm, WWF Wrestlemania, Zanac, Zelda 2 (gray and gold versions).

I got 10 manuals included along with the games. This is pretty good considering Game Stop's policy of destroying manuals/boxes. The Impossible Missions and Wally Bear came from a small game store in WV. I also picked up Devil May Cry GH for $15 new.

I hope to get some FAQ writing in this week but it probably won't happen since there's still lots of stuff to do. Oh well. Cleaning up all these NES games will be tough now that I'm at 200 titles.

05/25/03: SoA was finished a week ago. I'm RPG'd out for now. I did finally put Xenosaga in and played about 5 minutes of it. I won't start it until I finish the next two guides in the works. The maps I'm making are being done in Powerpoint. I've got the rough draft of them done. Now I need to verify and respace the nodes.

After seeing the difference between RF and AV on the NES, I'm glad that I bought the AV Famicom. Now all I need is a good adaptor since the PCB one I bought apparently damages the cartridges' connectors. I guess I'll use the frontloader one in the mean time. And yes, I have the US toploader but those vertical lines really annoy me. The AV Famicom gives you the best of both worlds.

I was playing DW3XL again and I really have lost my skill in the game. I could barely do a You Ting run with Zhou Yu. After I got used to the game again, I started owning the computer. I still can't get enough of infinite juggling an enemy officer while they are burning.

My copy of YGO DMI finally came in. In case anyone cares, I paid the low price of $49 for it. The place I got it from has since raised the price by $9. YGO is really too hot now. Everyone is charging way too much for cards and some places are total morons with the pricing. Here's a nice example. Last month I walk into a shop selling the cards. They have a BEWD in the glass case for $25. A foot to the right behind another case is the Kaiba starter deck which has BEWD as the first card showing through the package. No problem right? Here's the kicker. The starter's price was $12. I guess I can't really blame the stores since they are out to make $$$. I'm just annoyed that ittle kids get their parents to pay big bucks for the cards and then chuck them aside after a month or so. At least the cards look cool when you get the parallel versions. I'll never understand why a foil Birds of Paradise would sell for $50. I'm glad I quit back in the Tempest days.

05/16/03: Currently on disc 2 of SoA. Will probably finish that up by the weekend. I picked up some more NES titles from Funcoland. I bought them primararily because they were under $1 each and for the dust sleeves. There were 3 official sleeves and 1 Funcoland paper sleeve. I only included the official ones. No cheap paper nonsense for me.

05/06/03: I finished Legend of Legaia after 52 hours of play last Wednesday. I then went straight to work on Skies of Arcadia. I'm going to take a break from SoA to work on the FAQ. DW4 has been announced for Xbox so it looks like DW4XL will probably come out for PS2. I guess I'll wait for DW5 to come out since reviews and such of DW4 haven't been to my liking.

A second person has emailed me about a typo in the Aladdin (PSX) FAQ so I finally decided to fix it. It's a minor fix for now since the grand overhaul of all my FAQs will take time but this should put an end to any further email about that issue. I'm slowly but surely getting the next guide done. The biggest problem I'm finding is that I get divided between RPGs and FAQ writing. Skies of Arcadia is pretty fun so far so it looks like the FAQ won't be done blazingly fast like in the past.

On a side note, it finally looks like I can update again. I was trying to update since last Friday and Geocities kept giving me DNS errors.

04/21/03: Here is a preview of the next FAQ or rather the maps that I made for it. Map 1 : Map 2 : Map 3. As you can see, they are easier to draw by hand. I'm going ahead with the walkthrough first and then convert the maps later. What game are they for? It shouldn't be too hard to figure out from the maps. Don't worry if you can't because the guide will be done soon. I'm now in the Karisto Kingdom in LoL for those curious.

This is old news for the Deathlord list members but the link to Andrew's color Deathlord maps is up too.

Andrew Schultz has come up with a list of the attributes of all the Deathlord monsters. You can read it here. I haven't sorted it out yet but, feel free to send any comments to Andrew.

Here's a list of stuff to be done (top stuff most important)

  • Figure out what to keep
  • Update Legacy of the Wizard FAQ and make the dungeon map.
  • Update Master System FAQ.
  • Finish Jade Cocoon, Seiken Densetsu 3, Arc the Lad Collection.

I've worked on putting the town maps all on one page. You can view it at Town Maps. Email me any comments you have.

If anyone (esp Deathlord fan) hasn't yet signed my guestbook, please do so now. It only takes a couple of minutes.
