BayCon '99 Icehouse "Tourneyette"

BayCon '99 will be the site of the first-ever West Coast Icehouse competition. I will be hosting an Icehouse "tourneyette", following a teaching session on the game. The time slot is Sunday, May 30th, at 2:00pm. Check the BayCon web site (or better yet, the program, when you get there) for exact location.

The tournament will closely follow these tournament guidelines fairly closely, with some adjustments made for the projected small scale of this project.

Prospective players are strongly encouraged to browse the online handbook. It probably would also be a good idea to acquire an Icehouse set to practice with, or browse the tournament history (see here as well) for a sense of what has gone before (Note that the traditional venue for Icehouse tournaments used to be at an SF convention held Memorial Day weekend...) -- but we remind you, NO TEAM PLAY, so don't get any ideas.

The plan is to have a teaching session, to last hopefully not too much more than 30 minutes, to acquaint newcomers with the game. (It is highly possible that this could be the first tournament at which every player learned the game the same day.) Following the presentation/lesson will be the "restaurant-style" (choose your own opponents) Ice-Offs, which will determine the finalists, who will battle to the pain for supremacy.

There will be nice little prizey things for the winner. We may or may not bestow a Cooler Than Ice award, depending on how things work out and such.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Looney Labs in any way. This is strictly a fan event.
