DK has also joined forces with 3DGaming.net to commemorate Fax's return by sponsoring the Community Rhymes Contest. We'll be giving away 3 free computer games from our prize vault. For all the details, go to our Events Page.
With the loss of Murdock Sr. (who is now a member of GC, we wish him the best of luck), the Deli Kingz are once again actively searching for new members. If you're interested, head to the Members Page and give one of the leaders a shout!
Finally, the Deli has surpassed 900 hits since the last update. Thanks, everyone, we couldn't do it without each and every one of you.
On a heavy note, Murdock Sr. left the Deli Kingz because of his personal views on the war against hacks. We're sorry to see him go, but we wish him the best of luck in whatever lies ahead for him.
In other news, Skurj is going to be out of town and cut off from computers for about two weeks, effective this Saturday. Therefore, Morbid Angel will be an acting member on the voting council during his absence, so that we can continue with business as usual.
Finally, the Deli has reached 850 hits! Thanks everyone, and be sure to keep visiting!
We've added another member, who is a real-life friend of Ultra Eden. Ultra neglected to give me his I'76 handle, so for the time being, I've used his ICQ name: Summon. He's on the members page, go check it out and give him a big welcome into the ranks. For recruiting Summon, Ultra Eden also receives a Golden Tongue award for recruitment; check that out on the Awards page.
The Deli Royalty has taken a couple votes in the past weeks; some of the outcomes and issues that were voted upon are sensitive in nature and can't be revealed to outsiders. One such vote, however, resulted in the addition of a set of guidelines for our members (and the community) to follow if they feel the need to enter a hack game to extract some revenge. This code can be found on the Creed of Royalty page.
Now the good news: tonight the site is going through a major update process. We've added a new member, Biteme, he's a cool guy and a pretty darn good player to boot. He's up on the Members page. At the same time, two of our members, Rodster and Cigarman, are being dropped to the Inactive Members list. They can reclaim their places at any time, but until they contact Skurj, Ultra Eden, or myself, they aren't considered to be part of DK.
We're also going to be handing out some new awards tonight. Morbid Angel gets a Sacred Crown of the Deli for hack killing (and believe me, he's been busy, there's going to be a photo gallery for members' hack kills coming soon, and Morby has racked up almost all of the pics I have thus far!) Murdock Sr. gets a Golden Tongue award for recruitment; he was the one who referred Biteme into our fold. Finally, Skurj and myself get Silver Hubcaps for being active DK members for 6 months, and Ultra Eden gets both his Iron and Bronze hubcaps for being an active DK member for 2 and 4 months, respectively. Sorry we missed you last time, Ultra, and here's to many more. Yoshi Bear also receives her Iron Hubcap for 2 months as an active part of DK.
Also, while I was offline, the Deli reached and surpassed not only 600 hits, but also 700 as well! Thanks for all your business and helping to make the Deli a success! Faxman is proud, as are we all.
Finally, we regret the disbanding of our allies the A-Team. We wish all of them the best of luck, and we want them to know that there's a place for them in the Deli Kingz if they should so desire.
Finally, plans are in the works for a DK tournament. I don't want to give too much away here, but its tentative title is Royales with Cheese, and plans are in the works for a SPONSORSHIP and actual PRIZES! I don't want to say too much too early, in case something goes bad, but look for it coming soon to a Deli near you!
A lot of Deli Kingz-related news that had been brewing since Wednesday hit the community late last night. In an unexpected move, Deli Kingz founder Faxman announced that he was leaving the I'76 community for good due to real-life commitments, effective immediately. He will be succeeded in the ranks of Deli Royalty by Ultra Eden, again, effective immediately. The move by Faxman also precipitated The Beast's resignation from the Great Hack Jihad in order to give DK the attention it needs and deserves.
Also, earlier today the Deli Royalty voted to pass a measure to remove inactive members. An e-mail will be sent to each member of the Deli Kingz today. Each member must send an e-mail or ICQ message to one or more members of the Deli Royalty confirming that they are still interested in being part of DK or they will be placed on a list of "inactive" members. Members on this list may regain their membership at any time they choose, but they will be out of the gang until they contact one of the leaders.
The new Deli Royalty is interested in getting new blood into the gang once again. Membership has slowed in recent months, but we predict that several members will be gone by the end of next week, and even if everyone does stay around, we are still interested in getting at least a few new members.
Finally, in DK ladder news, The Beast climbed to #76 on the AVA combat ladder by defeating Chappy of Wolfteam. He lost his first ladder race, however, at the hands of Lexi, also of Wolfteam. His next combat ladder match is against Jimmy the Barrel, and his next race is against Crazy Man.
Well, yours truly, The Beast, has joined the AVA ladders in combat and racing. Thus far, I have yet to compete in a race, and lost handily to PunkRocker of Team Intercept in my first combat ladder match. If you can devote a little bit of time each week to the ladder, I would heartily encourage you to do it. It's great fun, it adds variety to a familiar game, and it might just make you a better driver! It would be great if DK could make a showing on the ladder...Also on that note, I'd be interested in putting together at least one team of Deli Kingz for the AVA's CTF ladder! So all you Deli Kingz with the Nitro Pack who'd be interested in representing the Deli, e-mail or ICQ me! Teams are made up of 3 drivers each, so we might even be able to get more than one!
In other personal news, yours truly has been catching a lot of flak on the DV board for his personal position on hacks. I made it quite clear that I spoke only for myself, so hopefully the group doesn't feel any backlash on this one. I'd like to know everyone's take on this...do you want to continue as an anti-hack gang? Remember, too, that there are those who support the anti-hack position; the whole issue is another of the ones that seems to be dividing the community.
Finally, although not a hack, a player named Thanatos has made it onto the DK Lamer List. This is one issue the community is not divided on: he's a real loser. He claims to be in GFH (he's not), he is suspected to impersonate others on occasion (don't be fooled), and he's driven at least one fairly new player (and probably others as well) to retire from I'76 for good. If you see this idiot in a game, whoop him good or give him the boot if you're the host.
We've formed an alliance with a large anti-hack gang called The Chicago Mafia (TCM). You may notice, however, that their page doesn't show up in the links section. Why?, you may ask. Because when I went to check out their site to grab their logo to use as a link, I found that the address that their leader, Bulldog, gave me contained a link to Smidge's hack page. The alliance is on hold until I get a little bit more information about these people. Anyone who knows anything should contact myself or Faxman.
Over the weekend, the Deli passed its greatest milestone yet: its 500th hit! Thanks to everyone who's helped to make the Deli a success!
Finally, the Deli Kingz are offering up their Lunchroom Message Board as a safe haven for anti-hackers, newbies, and strategists. This is the place to discuss the latest hack sightings, as well as for newbies to ask for help and veterans to share tips.
With the help of several other I'76 vets, Faxman
and The Beast held the second Newbie 101 training class/game last night.
We were able to help several newbies; I think it was a pretty fair success.
Thanks to Hannibal (A-TM),
Mercury (FR), and anyone else I may have forgotten
for lending their time and expertise!
Be sure to check out my latest post in support of Scott Krager on the DV board.
Lots of good things have happened since I last did the news. The Deli Kingz have handed out a bunch of awards; the winners were announced on the DV Messageboard. To see who's won awards so far, click here. Also, I forgot to add that Murdock Sr. was also awarded the Sacred Crown of the Deli for hack killing. Congratulations, Murdock.
Also, the Deli Kingz are now officially allied with The A-Team, led by Hannibal. We've played with several of their members, and they're a great gang. They're also fierce anti-hacks (another plus in their book)!
The first ever Deli Kingz Anti-Hack 101 class was announced and held yesterday afternoon on the California3 server. The class filled up very quickly, and it appeared to be a great success. We look forward to holding more such games in the near future.
The Deli Kingz' Not Entirely Fair CTF Tournament has been cancelled due to lack of interest. However, a new tournament is being announced for the month of May: the DK 2 on 2 CTF Challenge. For details, click here.
Finally, two nights ago, BHA was handed its second beatdown from the Deli Kingz via Faxman and The Beast. They're on the run now, guys. Stay sharp!
Also, the Deli Kingz wish to welcome its two newest members: Yoshi Bear (the first Deli Queen!) and Murdock Sr. Yoshi Bear's entry on the Members page is completely functional, but Murdock, I need your ICQ number (if you have one) as soon as possible.
Finally, not one person or even team has signed up for our NEF CTF tournament! If you can't find a partner but still want in on the fun, let us know and we will do our best to match you up with another lone wolf for the tournament. If we don't get some entries soon, the tournament will have to be cancelled. Hey, it sounded like a good idea to us...
We've passed another milestone here at the Deli: Faxman reported that we've passed our 300th hit on the main page some time last night. Not bad, considering that the counter has only been up for about two weeks. Thanks, everyone, for making this place a success, and keep the hits coming!
Since I made the announcement last night, I've seen a fair amount of interest on the message boards in the Deli Kingz' Not Entirely Fair CTF Tournament. For all the details and sign-up information, click here.
Due to problems with his original address, Faxman has taken a new one. All correspondence should be sent to delikingz@yahoo.com.
Well, yesterday was April Fools' Day, and INT JOLT!MAN and his crew perpetrated a pretty funny practical joke on the DV board. I fell for it....did you?
In other news, there is yet another new addition to the Deli: the Deli Specials. Here is where you can get information on Deli Kingz special events. The first event, the DK 2-on-1 CTF Challenge is now open for entrants. We're hoping to get a good turnout. Signups will remain open for probably two weeks or so before we actually hold the event, partially because we're still working out a few last-minute details, and partially because of my upcoming absence.
Elsewhere in Deli news, we got our 200th hit on the main page yesterday. The counter went up exactly one week ago--March 23rd. Thanks to everyone who's made the Deli a stop in their travels.
The message board has also been a success since it went up yesterday. Several big names and members of big-name gangs stopped by to say hello or post announcements. Thanks, guys, it seems that our board could become very popular soon.
Finally, I downloaded the Arsenal Map Editor earlier today. I've never made a map before, and thus far haven't had much luck. Hopefully, I'll be up to speed soon, and I'll be able to create special maps for Deli Kingz events. (This will also be a good way to keep hackers and other uninvited riff-raff out of our events.) If anyone has any special pointers to share, feel free to e-mail me.
Another new addition to the Deli: The Lunchroom, the Deli Kingz' new discussion forum, is now open for business! To go see it, click here.
Death Machine has written an excellent article on lag and its effects on aim that is an absolute survival guide for multi-play. You can read the article here.
Also, the link to Ultra Eden's personal site is now functional. Links to members' personal sites can be found on both the members page AND the links page. What can I say, membership hath priveleges.
Also, we here at the Deli are looking into the possibility of running a few events for YOU, the I'76 community! Keep watching this space for all the details. If you have any ideas or are interested in volunteering to help out, contact The Beast or Faxman.
Check out the Disco Vigilantes' Discussion Board here, and check out the post from Deadman. He and Roadtoad have both quit the notorious hacking gang Steel Talons [ST], and Roadtoad hinted that the gang was "out of control". Not quite sure what that means, but we'll keep you posted. Sadly, this could mean that other gang members are breaking Deadman and Roadtoad's promise not to share hacks with anyone outside their gang. We could see a proliferation of hacks in the very near future, but rest assured the Deli Kingz will be fighting the good fight to the bitter end!
Sorry for the lack of updating yesterday, but there was no real news to report. I took TumTum's name off of the members page, and I added the Friends and Patrons page.
We have officially allied ourselves with the Australian AVA chapter, Vigilantes Down Under (VDU). Their leader, XR8, is a really cool guy, and we look forward to lots of fun with them in the future.
Our counter shows that lots of you are visiting the Deli...over 80 hits in the last 3 days! That's good! But most of you aren't signing our guestbook...that's not so good. We want to know what you think of our site, our gang, and our food! Just click the Check-Out Counter on the main page.
The Deli has been a great success since its grand opening last week. We've received lots of positive feedback, and the site has had 31 hits since the counter went up yesterday. Thanks for visiting, everyone, and feel free to send complaints, compliments, or just general comments our way!
The Deli Kingz want to be your source for the latest I'76 happenings. If you have news to share, e-mail The Beast. If we use your news, you can see your name with your story!
In other news, HackKilla-BFC stepped down last week as leader of the Great Hack Jihad, a gang with which we are friendly. Citing time commitments, HK turned the Jihad over to Pitbull II. We wish HK, PB, and the rest of the GHJ the best of luck.
