Welcome to the Manana Net Home Page

The Manana Net is an Amateur Radio service net serving Maritime Mobiles in the Sea of Cortez, the coast of mainland Mexico, South America, Alaska, and as far out into the Pacific as we can reach. Operating frequency is 14.340 mhz. Early bird session of the net starts at 1830 Z with the net opening at 1900 Z, Monday thru Saturday, (never on Sunday).

The Manana Net originated approximately 18 years ago by several amateur radio operators while cruising in the Sea of Cortez, Baja Calif. Mexico, Howard Munson, N6ANT, and Fred Pipher, KE6OA, were among the first.

The primary purpose of the net is for handling legal third party traffic from maritime mobiles, emergency, health and welfare, weather and other priority traffic.

Net Procedures
When checking into the net, give only your call sign "suffix", give your full call, your location (required by Mexican FCC when in Mexico), and state your traffic when recognized by net control or one of the relay stations. The net (and FCC) require all check-in stations be licensed to operate on the 20 meter ham band, however, in case of "emergency" we will talk to anyone.

Net Manager:
KB5HA-Kermit Goettsche, Albuquerque NM, good in the call book for any correspondence.
