Mercedes Benz, after research into all 3D CAD/CAM packages available, selected CATIA as part of its state of the art design and Manufacturing software offerings.

Introduced in the Aerospace Industry, CATIA has proven itself in Automotive production and is readily adaptable to industries as diverse as appliance makers, architect, bio-medical engineers, facility planners, mechanical assemblers, and mold makers.

CATIA is a highly interactive Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer aided Engineering (CAE) graphic system. It is modular family of software consisting of the CATIA interactive program and an associated set of batch utility programs.

CATIA already used in various Industries such as:

1. Boeing Aerospace > 8000 seats
2. Chrysler Automotive > 3500 seats
3. Honda Automotive > 2500 seats
4. Daimler Benz > 2300 seats
5. BMW Automotive > 900 seats
   

Mercedes Indonesia starting using CATIA beginning of this year

• MBGI implementation CATIA PROJECT bases on MB800 product.
• They scheduled by this end of this year (1997), major of drawing MB800 already in Computerized
• Hari Mukadi in charge for this project as PROJECT LEADER
