"After many months of playing the good girl, I was
fired just like that!"
-Caitlin Richards
What a sad day in Sunset Beach History, June 18th, 1998 marks the "End of An Era" for Caitlin fans all across the world, they all gathered and mourned the firing of a truly great actress. "Caitlin is a woman I admire, her devotion to her family put tears in my eyes, thats why I placed a 50 ft statue in my garden to honor the woman who made me who I am today," said Vivianne, a true Caitlin fan at heart.
At 8:00am; Pat, Ryan, Vivianne, and Nobody Special led the crowd of thousands of Caitlin fans all across the world into "The House of Congress" (or whatever the thing is called) in Washington D.C. Vivianne was the first to speak, she damanded it because of her dedication and devotion to a true actress. She stood up on the podium and looked down at everyone and started speaking:
"I was sitting home alone one day little than more of a year ago, I had just finished doing work in my garden and I decided I'd watch a little television, I flicked on the tv and there I saw the face of an actress who truly affected my life there on after. Weeks, and weeks passed and every day I laughed, cried and went along with the adventures of Caitlin Richards and company, I remember that very day when she found out she was pregnant, it felt like a part of me was going to be pregnant too, thats how deeply I was affected. I then began to despise Gregory, Caitlin's protective father, the same man who was going to steal Caitlin's baby and tell her it was dead, what an evil man, a wicked, tortured soul! When Caitlin had found out from Sean what Gregory was trying to do, I was praying so hard that Caitlin would race back to Sunset Beach and beat the living hell out of Gregory and get back with Cole and start thir happy little family, but that never happened, because of Gregory, Caitlin lost her baby. When I learned that Caitlin had miscarried and she would never be able to give birth again, my life shattered just as hers did, I felt Caitlin's pain so much I just wanted to run to Sunset Beach and comfort Caitlin for life. I was afraid that if Caitlin told Cole, he would leave her and go back to his old ways, so I understood why Caitlin was keeping this pregnancy under wraps, I understood her very well. But know that Caitlin has 'gived' birth to her mothers baby, I don't know what I want to happen, I feel bad for Olivia so much, but then again I want Caitlin to live a happy life with Cole, and Trey, her son. But now that Caitlin has been recasted, I don't know if the bond between me and Caitlin will be so powerful anymore, I will really try hard to like the new Caitlin, but a part of me left my sould when I learned that Caitlin will be changing faces, I hereby state that Caitlin lives a happy life with her family, and dear god let Trey be raised by loving parents...."
Right then Vivianne burst into tears and slowly walked off stage, she left the rest of completely speechless, we have never heard a powerful speech in our lives, so we decided that we would end the speeches right there with the crowd wanting more, so we instantly then brought up our first guest celeberty speaker, Sara Cummings:
"I never did have any scenes with Caitlin, but before I joined the cast, I had been a big fan of the series, in fact Caitlin was my favorite character, she seemed like the woman every little girl wanted to be. She had the perfect smile, the perfect body, the great face, she is everything, everything I want to be...."
Sara's speech was interupted, as Melinda Fall walked out onto the stage, she pushed Sara off the podium and started speaking:
"People, People, listen up, I have the truth, the proof that Sara Cummings did indeed have an affair with Congressman Blythe!"
Melinda then put a videotape into a vcr and then on the big screen behind the podium, lit up with a video clip of Sara and Blythe rolling around under the covers, after several minutes Melinda shut off the tv and started speaking again:
"You see! The little lying intern did have an affair, what do you all think now?"
"BOOOOO! Get off the stage, we want Caitlin, Caitlin! Caitlin! Caitlin!" shouted the fans.
Sara jumped back up onto the stage and punched Melinda right between the eyes, "You bitch, I thought you were my friend!" screamed Sara. She didn't give time for Melinda to answer instead she just kept on hitting Melinda with her fists, after several minutes some security gaurds came up onto the stahe and dragged Sara off and then an Emergency Crew came to bring Melinda to the ER to get reconstructive surgery.
"Sorry for the interuption," said Pat to the crowd, "Let's bring out our next celeberty guest, heeeeeeeeeeeers, Spike The Dog!
Spike went up to the podium, put his paw on the microphone and said into it "Ruff, Bark, Bow Wow, Ruff, Ruff, Bark." He then walked off and Sean gave him a treat for saying some words about Caitlin.
They then played a video tape entitled "Caitlin Richards: The Early Years" showing some old clips taking place in the first few months of Sunset Beach, then they introduced our next celeberty guest, Olivia Richards:
"I feel..... Real honored to be here today <sob> Caitlin..... is the best.... daughter.... <sob> <sob> a mother could ask <sob> for..... I remember the very day..... she was <sob> born, it brought a real tear to my eye <sob><sob><sob><sob><sob><sob> Everytime I...... think about it.... I just <sob><sob><sob><sob><sob><sob> Can't help crying<sob><sob><sob><sob> Caitlin.....<sob> I love you darling<sob><sob><sob>"
The crowd applauded for Olivia's speech and then they played some more Caitlin clips, but this time clips from 'The Summer of 97', after that the next celeberty guest came out, Cole Deschanel:
"Caitlin Richards, you are the woman of my life, I cherish every moment I spend with you, I kiss the ground you walk on, I make love to the bed you sleep on, oh wait, that came out wrong, I make love with you on the bed you sleep on, yeah that sounds better. I also worship the foos you eat, I listen to your every word, I dream of you walking, smiling, laughing, crying, dancing, singing, taking a shower, playing with our son, Trey, I just can't get you out of my mind. Caitlin Richards, your a woman I'll never forget."
Cole left the stage, and then we saw some more clips, this time of the last few months before Caitlin is recasted, then after the clips the big moment came, Caitlin Richards walked up onto the podium and spoke into it:
"God, I love you all, I can't believe all of you came in my honor, I truly love you all. I'm not to prepared for this speech, but I know I just have to get something off my chest before I make my departure into the Sunset. Cole, there's something I have to tell you."
Right then Cole walked up to the stage and stood next to Caitlin:
"Yes dear what is it?" he asked.
"It's about our son, Trey. Remember many months ago when I was in that horrible, andf I mean horrible accident, well when I was rescued by Sister Beatrice and that mute guy, they told me something, something real horrible, and I mean real horrible that I kept from you all these months, and I feel real terrible, and I mean real terrible about it, that I just have to tell you before I make my departure. Cole, that accident caused me to miscarry our child, and worst of all I can never give birth to a child in my life, all these past months, that child has not been ours, it's someone elses, Annie got us a baby from someone who was giving it up for adoption, thats my secret Cole, the truth is out."
The two of them hugged, then Cole replied:
"There's something I've been meaning to tell you too, I slept with your mother."
"SMACK!!!!" was the sound that was made when Caitlin slapped Cole across the face, Caitlin ran off the stage and took her wedding ring off her finger and threw it at Cole"
"It's over Cole, our marriage is over."
She picked up Trey who had been in Sean's arms and got into her limo and drove off and was never seen again...
Pat, Ryan, Vivianne, and Nobody Special walked up to podium and said into the microphone at the same time:
"What An Ending!!"
