DANNY JACOBSON

Danny Jacobson serves as co-creator and executive producer of TriStar Television's acclaimed half-hour comedy series "Mad About You" and is the for "TGAGAAPP"

A native of New York, Jacobson graduated from Hofstra University with a double major in journalism and psychology, intending to become a writer. He was sidetracked, however, when he auditioned as an actor "on a fluke" and found himself performing on Broadway as Kenickie in "Grease" opposite Treat Williams in the mid-1970s. Jacobson later had a recurring role on "One Life to Live," and acted in several commercials before he was hired to write sketches for husband-and-wife comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara on their syndicated television series.

Soon after, Jacobson segued to writing on the irreverent comedy series "Soap," and also penned one of the first episodes of "Fame," eventually becoming a writer/producer for the sitcom "My Sister Sam." Jacobson later served as a writer and supervising producer for the pilot episode and 1988-1990 seasons of "Roseanne," and then co-created and executive produced the 1991-92 comedy series "Davis Rules" starring Randy Quaid. He also co-created and executive produced the sitcoms "Good Advice," with Shelley Long and "Grease" co-star Treat Williams, and "Simon."

Jacobson currently resides in Encino with his wife Amy, their two children and their two dogs, Norton and Lucy.
