NOVEMBER 1, 1998:
New Simpsons Album!
On November 24, 1998, Geffen will finally be releasing the follow-up album to The Simpsons Sing The Blues, called The Yellow Album, 6 years after it was recorded. The CD features 10 songs produced by John Boylan, with guests that include Linda Ronstadt and George Clinton. Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons (which is the follow-up to last year's Songs in the Key of Springfield and features songs from the show) remains on hiatus at this point.

OCTOBER 7, 1998:
Matt Groening's New Creation
Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons, of course) has created a new cartoon, Futurama. Futurama features a guy named Fry from the 20th century who gets stuck 1000 years in the future, where he meets a robot named Bender and a woman named Leela. Watch for it on FOX beginning sometime mid-season.

SEPTEMBER 27, 1998:
The Simpsons wins 3 Emmys
In case you didn't hear, The Simpsons won 3 Emmys this year: Outstanding Voiceover to Hank Azaria, Animated Series/Special for the episode "Trash of the Titans," and Music & Lyrics to Alf Clausen and Ken Keeler for the song "You're Checkin' In" from "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson."
