FEVER: HOW ROCK'N'ROLL TRANSFORMED GENDER IN AMERICA
by Tim Riley (St. Martin's Press, June 2004)

"Mr. Riley is at his very best when he comes to what Spector and Veronica Bennett (later Veronica Spector) achieved with the Ronettes. Indeed, he writes one of the best single passages I've ever read about one of the ultimate girl-group songs: a passage that focuses on the breathtaking wordless opening of 'Be My Baby,' with its dangerous heart-arrhythmia of cathartic beats: the ones Mr. Riley transliterates as 'Boom! ... boom-boom BLAM!'"
--Ron Rosenbaum, read the full The New York Observer article here.

WOMEN DON'T ASK: NEGOTIATION AND THE GENDER DIVIDE
by Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever (Princeton University Press: October 15, 2003)

"In this brilliant book Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever provide readers with the means not only of navigating the difficulties of negotiation, but also of fully engaging a modern world where traditional roles and norms are receding..." -- Robert J. Shiller, author of IRRATIONAL EXUBERANCE

"This book is an eye opener, a call to arms, and a plan for action;
it is enlightening, unsettling, and, ultimately, inspiring." -- Teresa Heinz
